Indian driver Sailesh Bolisetti to race for Lotus in British GT

Lotus Sport UK has signed Sailesh Bolisetti to race in the 2012 Avon Tyres British GT Championship. The 23-year-old from Visakhapatnum, on the east coast of India, will race the Lotus Evora GT4 which took three wins last year, the team’s maiden season. Bolisetti began racing in 2007 and went on to winIndia’s inaugural Volkswagen Polo Cup in 2010. BTCC 2011 driver and former Formula Ford and Renault Clio Cup Champion Martin Byford, will join 2010 Britcar Production Champions Richard Adams and David Green in a bid to take the Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship Crown. Team Bullrun have announced that they are to take deliver of a new Lotus Evora GTC in time for the first round of the Championship at the Silverstone GP Circuit on 24th March 2012. For the last five years, LoTRDC have attracted new competitors into the world of motorsport through the Elise Trophy, Lotus Cup Europe and from this year, Lotus Cup UK. This expansion continues with the announcement of a new championship in 2012 as Lotus Cup UK grows. With an average of 40 starters amongst the 8 rounds in 2011 and new enquiries from entrants coming in on a weekly basis, Lotus Cup UK Production and SuperSport championships have been formed. Lotus IndyCar Developments Announced at the LA Auto Show

Lotus announces three partner teams to run Lotus IndyCar twin turbo V-6 racing engines in the 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series season. Lotus Motorsport will supply engines to Bryan Herta Autosport, Dreyer and Reinbold Racing and HVM Racing. Engine supply partnership agreements will enable Lotus Motorsport to build long term technical and commercial collaborations with these teams. The Elise Trophy will be supporting the DTM once more in 2012

LoTRDC have released the 2012 Elise Trophy calendar, for the sixth season of the series. The technical rules remain essentially unchanged from 2010, with cars running Rover engines up to 151bhp at the hubs and Toyota power plants up to 172bhp. The race format is also retained, with two 20 minute races at each meeting. Whilst the Elise Trophy is aimed at novice drivers and promotes a social atmosphere, entrants can also compete in the Lotus Cup UK Championship, which will share many of the dates and venues. As a long and challenging season draws to a close, Lotus Jetalliance looks forward to a strong finishing performance from both Evora GTE cars at the Six Hours of Zhuhai in China this weekend (November 12th/13th). The first challenge has already been overcome simply by the team being in attendance at the race this weekend.
