Highs & lows for Lotus LMP2 in WEC at Spa

After an engine change, car #32 got a penalty which meant that James Rossiter had to start from the pit lane with one lap down. Especially after the great result in yesterday’s qualifying this was a real shame for the team. Rossiter made his way through the field and went up to 6th position in LMP2 class. However, the Lotus LMP2 #32 needed to be repaired after an accident and lost some positions. The car finished the race in position 11 of the LMP2s. 2012 Formula One Mugello Test Day Two

Day 1. Lotus F1 Team completed only morning session running due to inclement weather on the first of three days testing at the delightfully located Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello in Italy. Jérôme D’Ambrosio sampled the E20 for the first time, completing 40 trouble free laps. The Lotus Exige has been around since the Elise was made a little more hardcore some 12 years ago back in 2000. A more track focussed car than it's predecessor the Exige was further updated to the S2 in 2004 and received power boost through a supercharger in 2005 in the shape of the Exige 240r. GP2 – BAHRAIN Formula One’s feeder series stayed out in Bahrain for a second successive weekend, with Lotus GP hoping to repeat their brilliant triple-podium performance. However, a poor qualifying session made Race 1 rather frustrating. Both cars sat out practice in order to save tyres, but found the track conditions were very different come qualifying without the benefit of sticky F1 rubber. Traffic, too, cost the team dearly. Not the first time a Lotus Evora has been seen on Wisteria Lane! The Desperate Housewives cast & crew held a block party in LA the other day and 1000+ Hollywood types  turned up with a bunch of VIP's to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Lotus donated a week-long loan of the car and a pair of VIP tickets to an IndyCar race which proved so popular that a second car and pair of tickets was arranged raising over  $5,000 for the charity. … [Read more...]

Lotus is proud to present the official video created by Daniel Simon. Hollywood Designer Simon, who is known for movies like Tron: Legacy and the famous black and gold livery of the Lotus LMP2 car, visited the inaugural race of the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship and accompanied Lotus day and night. Nick Fulcher – Coachtrimmer

Sadly, the Lotus community has lost a great friend. On April 20th, Nick Fulcher passed away from a brain tumor. Nick is perhaps best known to Lotus enthusiasts as the bespoke coachtrimmer who, as Mike Kimberley would say, “practicalized” Giugiaro’s tartan interior for the Esprit S1 and personally handled the interior modifications to the Esprit S1 used in The Spy Who Loved Me, but who also worked on projects as varied as the DeLorean, British Airways’ 747s, and Disneyland Paris. Lotus F1 Team is pleased to announce its driver line-up for the forthcoming Mugello test on May 1-3,where the team’s third driver Jérôme D’Ambrosio will get his first taste of the podium-finishing E20.
