Owned since July 2007, purchased from Lotus Garage Pfenninger, Zumikon Switzerland with 54,000 km on the clock - in pristine condition. Left the production line February 28th 1991; was however not registered before January 2nd 1993. Swiss registered since new, I am the third owner it appears. It is safely warm-garaged in winter. In its fourth season, I have had no problems at all.
This car is a piece of historic, automotive art.
Engine:
The unmodified 2,2 liter 4-cylinder charge-cooled turbo with 246 BHP regular/280 BHP boost and 345 Nm torque. Performance 0-100 km/h in about 4,7 seconds, top speed 265km/h. Curb weight 1265 kg.
Modifications:
Remus 4-pot exhaust and Avon tires (by PO); a blow-off valve and tailgate lifters (Ramspott & Brandt); and the AC/vent display panel (Telstar One, New Zealand). Ventilation knobs (LotusPerformance), gear knob (Moto-concept), and floor mats & door sills (Ramspott & Brandt). Furthermore, Flamebeater fire extinguisher (Elise-Parts), Momo Fighter Zebrano steering wheel (Torshov Bilrekvisita), Enamel Union Jacks with Lotus logo on the front wings (Auto Regalia); alloy gear surround from Lotus Prepared by Claudius; hand brake lever from Ramspott & Brandt; Blaupunkt Bronx stereo with Morel Integra and Magnat speakers from local stereo shop. I have moved the Design by Lotus badge forward of the rear wheel arch. All modifications are reversible.
Service:
First service after buying the car was a full C-service in June 2009 (at 62,000 km), carried out by Lotus specialists "Norsk Chassis Teknikk" (Solbergelva). Front left wheel bearing was also replaced. Otherwise the garage stated that the car was very well kept and in excellent condition. 2010: Re-Connolized leather interior by Swissvax leather dye, blended accordig to submitted sample. Expensive but worth it.
For surface treatment I use the Swissvax range (Swissvax Concourse)
Flash June 2011, OZ Futuras with brand new Conti Sport 3's. Like getting a new car. The difference from the old Avons is titanic. Now I know !!what this car is all about
