Base boost (mechanical) is .35 bar or 5psi but the ECU can give you up to .85 bar or 12psi if certain conditions are met.

hi thank for reply sorry to sound stupid but just to clarify
5 psi mech i understand
with upto 12 psi under certain conditons?
do you mean it can be modified to produce 12psi if certain engine upgraded are done (as in not factory standard)
or
do you mean the ecu will automaticly allow 12psi if certain engine paramiters are met as in standard form ( as in as it came out of the factory)
thanks chaps

From the factory it will produce up to 12psi. the 5psi is a "baseline" setting. The computer takes this into account and depending on engine temp, load, and various other bits of data provided from sensors, it can adjust the turbo to produce up to an additional 7psi of boost over the mechanical 5, giving a total of 12psi. No engine mods are necessary as this is preprogrammed into the ECU.
