Alpine woe

The bluetooth "auto disables". Most often it's when the car is switched off - the next time I get back in the bluetooth has become disabled, although occasionally it will unilaterally decide I don't want bluetooth when I'm driving along. I can usually get it working again by going into the settings menu and enabling the bluetooth, although sometimes this also fails.
I can't seem to turn off the turn by turn voice when I'm not listing to music. This becomes most frustraiting when on the phone and occasionally all the person on the other end can hear is "Turn left in 100 yards" blasting into their ear.
Help - any ideas on how to solve these two issues? (I can't believe the lovely people in Norfolk didn't know just how poor the unit was before launch - poor choice by someone)
Peter.

I'm getting this exact same problem. Did you ever find a solution?

The answer from the factory was that some of the bluetooth settings weren't right (not sure which ones). I've just got the car back and I haven't had the problem in the last few days.
One possible solution I found is to eject the nav bit and turn it off, that seemed to get it out of the bad mood it had got it self in to, but wasn't a permanent fix.

The car is going in to the dealer on Monday, so I'll mention it to them in case they can help... I'll report back if any developments.

I am now having the same problem as you with the bluetooth disabling the auto connect after the car has been switched off.
I am unable to change the setting unless I remove the unit, which switches it off anyway, and change the bluetooth setting on the Blackbird.
Tonight I will look to see if there are any software/firmware updates for the unit
I wondered if it had anything to do with upgrading my iPhone 4 to version 4.3.2 (8H7) last week..
I don't really see how a change in the phone software would make the blackbird unit disable the auto connect feature.
Do you use an iPhone in your car?
The bottom line is that this piece of equipment is shocking and should never have been chosen for fitting to this car...... or any car for that matter it is cr@p.

Yes, I'm using an iPhone and i tend to stay up to date with the software - although as you say, I wouldn't have thought that would affect the Alpine.
It's been OK for me since I removed the blackbird and pressed the reset button. (Touch wood)

I've got a Nokia, so I doubt it's that. From memory another "helpful" thing was to let the blackbird go flat (although I'd guess that's the same as pressing the reset button).
