if you mean a master brake cylinder, yes i know a idea i also replace mine with one from a land rover (i don't know which type) but from the 70/ or begin 80
that one is just a little bit bigger and you must make a plate between the cylinder and the main thing,

Thanks so far, I will try the seal kit. Just hope the bore is not too messed up! I read about the Landy one, but I don't want to mess with the original set up!

Hi Michael
If you have problems with your master cylinder bore being too badly scored, drop me a note as I have one which i removed from my 76 Elite which worked fine when removed, Should you need me to, will either strip it down to check bore or send as is, for you to rebuild or refitt at postage cost. If any help.
Regards
Mike

The problem with RHD master cylinders is, that the lines come out on the wrong side. On LHD models they exit right.

The master cylinder is from a 2+2 Elan or Europa TC. Rebuild kit number is Girling SP 2485-1
Full list:

Vauxhall Viva GT (Tandem System) (1968-1970)

Marcos 3 Litre (Volvo engine (USA market only) (1970-1971)

Lotus EUROPA Special S3 (USA Market only) (1972-ON)

Lotus Elan & 2S 130 (USA market only) (From Chassis No 0275 N.) (1972-ON)

Lotus Elan & 2S & 2S 130 (USA market only) (1968-1972)

Gilbern Invader MK3 LHD (Sept 1972-ON)

Ford Lotus Cortina 1558cc (Tandem System) LHD (Nov 1968-1971)

I found my second master cylinder, rebuilt it and it's in the Elite, working fine!

Gents - what is the series 2 brake master cylinder from? As above I want to put a repair kit in as I've done the rest of the seals in the system.
Regards
Steve
