Hello All,
I have a late Series 1 Eclat. Has anyone any advice using spring compressors to dismantle their front suspension? There doesn't seem to be enough space to the sides and rear of the springs at the top where they fit right into the chassis. Compressing the lower section doesn't seem to be enough. I've dismantled it before but it was a right dangerous fiddle! Put it back together again by compressing the springs on the bench and wiring them, then cutting off once in the car. How does everyone else do this?
Many thanks!

Landy - as you've already discovered its a perilous job, you can only get the compressors approx 45 degrees apart. I had little problem taking mine off as the old springs were sagging, but installing the new ones was a PITA. Sorry but trial and error is my only advice.
Steve
