Went to the O2 last night - OMG. I've seen some concerts in my time but this was something else. The sound, the HD projections, the animation, props, even a children's choir for We Don't Need No Education and of course The Wall itself. Whilst I'm not keen on some of the tracks and the political ranting, I know where he is coming from and this was magnificent. I didn't catch it first time round in 1980 but saw Pink Floyd on the Pulse Tour in '94 - this was up there with that concert, not quite, but nearly.

Of course there were rumours on the internet that Dave Gilmour might appear to guest on Comfortably Numb and last night was the night. He appeared on top of the wall, picked out by several spotlights and went for it. Absolutely awesome. Grown men were seen crying, emotional wrecks as they realised this was probably the last time these two would get together on stage. And at the end Nick Mason was invited on stage to jam. I could die and go heaven a happy man. What a night.

Strange what music can do to you.

So then it did happen, and with Nick Mason joining them in the end as well   :animier: :band:

Would soo much have loved to be there, but then again I saw the show here in Oslo a few weeks back, and can only agree that it really was something else.

I probably dragged down the age average quite a bit at the show (I was two years old first time the show was on the road), but The Wall has for some reason been one of the really formative albums of my music interest, so for me it is one of those albums where I just know every single note, beat and word by heart, and to see it live was something I honestly never though I would do. Always cursed myself for missing the Pulse tour, because I was unable to travel to it, but this more than made up for it. Will even admit to being one of those that shed a tear or two..

Even get a shiver down the spine now just thinking back to it

There are a few video's of Gilmour's appearance appearing on You Tube -

Apparently there will be a DVD of the show but not this one - a real pity.

I would of loved to of been there, but yet again I missed out. Went to the Pulse concert and I still get tingles from seeing the clips from that night. I went to see David G doing his 'On an island' what was an honnor.

I have grown up with Pink Floyd but it wasn't from my mum or dad. It was my next door neighbour that gave me Atom heart mother album.

I slept overnight outside Nassau Coliseum for tickets to the 1980 original and they ran out of tickets about twenty people before us. Grrr.
