It's got a key with a roundel and another part which can be pressed. The roundel de-immobilises the car, and the other does the opposite but press as I might, the pins don't go up and down. This is a 2011, pretty much brand new car. Any ideas?

Worked it out, you use the key in the lock! The central locking was too heavy so has been deleted from the Club Racer

Remote central door locking is available if the comfort pack is specified.(extra cost option)..
So depending on the spec it might well be deleted.

Tell me about it! I have the same keys for my Exige and they even have a battery in each one, but no central locking or pins in the doors. Not very smooth having to complete a full walk round the car every time you want the lock/unlock both the doors. Also requires extra care not to catch the paint with the key blade!
I see the same with my interior light! There is a bulb installed and the rocker function can be moved to select auto on/off with the doors, but I wonder if connecting it up added too much weight

So is this the new toy then. Good that they learnt what was not necessary from the proper S1 elise - are the seats comfy - they look great

This was a loaner from the factory to take to Gresham and possibly to Combe on Saturday.

Just done over 500 miles in 2 days and the seats are fine. Started to get a touch of lower back soreness eventually but that's after 8 hours in the car and I'm sure I'm not the ideal shape for an Elise, I'll probably feel the same sat in any seat for that period of time!
