Was the ad you attached from Lotus? Someone should have proof read it first. An "on cost option"? Probably should have been a "no cost option". Perhaps this is a just another misunderstanding due to the "two peoples separated by a common language" thing! Regardless, like the wheels. And I thought there was a Caterham in your future!

Oddly, those turbine wheels don't appear in the online PDF version of the Evora brochure. Maybe a transitory option from 2011-2012, post publication.

Anyway to stay on thread and help Moxie was there not a show car recently (in last year) that had those wheels in some thread? Maybe I am getting mixed up with the S wheels before they were launched.

They are hideous!
Well, the price is certainly hideous ($2,475), but other than the stock Classic wheels, they're the only ones I like. More likely to ditch the turbines in favor of the slightly precious Tech Pack.

I thought there was a Caterham in your future!
Given the price difference between a Caterham Roadsport, hassle/cost in getting it running, almost equally killer performance of an Evora, with all the amenities it offers (like being able to put Chet in the backseat so he can tell me how crappy I'm driving), I ditched the Caterham idea, although it would mean also ditching the Turbo to make up the difference, but not until after Lime Rock and Stowe. Funny thing is I loathed the Evora when I first saw one, but like all the music I most cherish, it was lost on me at first and it's attraction was relentless and I've come to appreciate it's charms. Test drives tomorrow...hmm...actually today technically, at one dealer and more day after at another dealer, so we'll see what shakes since it's too late to order a MY11 and MY12 specs/prices aren't out yet.
Personally, I think Lotus should duplicate the year-long evaluation they hooked Bibs up with, but over here, in my garage, but that's just me. Legendary suspension?...I'll take it for a spin on the BQE to Coney Island and then we'll see what it's made of. (Parts strewn across two boroughs of NYC is what it would end up as.)

Like putting spinners on a Ferrari, or the aerodynamic wheels from a Hybrid Civic on a hummer.
I prefer the standard cast wheels in grey.

I don't like the look of the forged wheels either. Too many square cross-section spokes, not flowing like the car.
I'm ok with the Evora S wheels, but still would probably prefer the standard cast wheels...

However, once I got the silver cast wheels on the car, I've decided I like them better than the forged wheels. They "look" lighter and more dynamic and seem to suit the car's looks a bit better. As an added bonus, they are much easier to clean than the forged pattern.
I don't like any pictures of the new 19/20 diamond cut wheels, but once I saw them in person I was much more impressed. They look very good in the flesh. I don't like the turbine wheels even a bit, but I've never seen them in person. This is all just opinion of course; hard to get the "right" answer for something aesthetic.
If I ordered the car again, I would get the standard silver cast wheels (for free!).

Ouch! (But funny!)
I see your point though. And regarding Hegg's comment about "looking" lighter, it's hard to beat the cast wheels.
My other concern is that I know from experience how easy it is to throw a wheel out of true in NYC while on your way to better roads, and the replacement cost/availability of the turbines would be an issue.

I took these with the phone so not the best I agree but do nothing for the car. IMO of course. Actually in SWMBO eyes as well who was less polite. Maybe it was the colour of the car clashing? Sorry I couldn't get further back as the car was hemmed in by others - maybe MMC trying to hide it! They actually looked coarse finish and cheap on the car as if never intended for it. (Like a boy racer shoe horning 19" rims onto a Saxo and then having no steering lock.)
Actually I can't even remember if the other side of the car has the turbines going the other way?
