My 1st attempts at photographing the moon. Did it on Manual, quite a bit of trial and error to understand how the settings affected the photo. I am chuffed with the end result though. It was taken Sunday night in Absersoch.

I also had a go at taking a picture of Venus. This was much harder to judge on the little screen if the shot was any good.

Alex nice piccy's :)

Try Jupiter, its very bright at the moment low in the east from around 9.30 / 10pm in the uk rising slowly toward the south. Its moons are very clear.

This an early attempt of Saturn

SKYMAX-127 SynScanTM AZ GOTO 127mm (5") f/1500 COMPUTERISED MAKSUTOV-CASSEGRAIN got it to play with astrophotography and its very portable which is good.

Some pics of Jupiter I took last week, not very good as still on steep learning curve

this one is a bit under exposed and fuzzy

Posted Image

this one is over exposed but it shows the moons around Jupiter quite well

no reason you cant as the power of the lenses often are similar but the more distant the object the less light so the longer the exposure. This means the object will move taking into account the rotation of the earth.

Try using the movie mode of the camera, take a few hundred frames, then use a program like registax which looks at the movie frame by frame then picks out the best frames and stacks them together to produce a better photo

Hey, there's nothing on Earth that could save us
When I feel in love with Uranus
I don't wanna give you away
Cause it makes no sense at all
