If there's enough support we can certainly have a pitch there.

Fancy contacting the organisers for us and finding out the deal?

This year we will have a major event at the factory too, focused on the new Esprit, DB has given us permission for this and I'll be having some meetings at the factory shortly to discuss the details. We had one in 2006, 2009 and this time it's 2012.

Would be great if TFL was there as a club. Club Lotus usually have a small stand there, which I never seem to be able to join. Last year I was parked up with LDC though I'm not a member. Silverstone Classic is an awesome event.

In the lotus place, 6" above a puddle of oil and coolant!

Seriously, I'm looking forward to a factory weekend focused around a new car. Was not too Bothered about the new Europa or the Evora really. Had owned all the Lotus cars I wanted to and lost interest, hence the wheels, but I think, If it's good, the new Esprit will up the image by a million percent, I really do.

I'm in on the factory visit for sure, but I have a pitifully ignorant question--namely, if you're like me and more interested in the Lotus road cars than F1/motorsport, what UK event would be best in 2012? I can't afford to do Goodwood, the factory, and another, so I think Goodwood is out even though my fellow local TLF contingent will probably be there, but what about the Donnington meet? I can't quite figure out when that will be. Thanks.

Moxie, the Lotus Festival is always good and this year is likely to be at Brands. Usually around the third week in June.

No not that one, this was at Snetterton race circuit in Norfolk about 10 miles from Hethel. It is a weekend event with lots of Lotus racing and demonstations. 2010 was fabulos with the Lotus Racing F1 team in attendance and the largest ever gathering of Lotus racing cars of all 'type' and acres of cars in the car park.
