Announced at the Autosport show...

Looks like an SC upgrade is available for the standard NA after all!

Here is a scan of the leaflet which I have poached from Mark A on the playground (Thanks for posting this Mark)

I hope this doesn't contravene any copyrights. Perhaps Bibs could get hold of the official press release from Lotus?

This is very interesting news.. I presume it would void any warranty though?

I was out car hunting yesterday looking at various cars, but none were quite right enough for me to sign on the line.

I still have another couple to look at, but these upgrades might tempt me to stay :)

Serious comment must await the details, but it will be very interesting to compare the powertrain performance kit with the RADIUM CAI plus sports exhaust. (I am nowt to do with Radium.)

Are they?

If available, I'd probably go for the supercharger kit, heated MY12 seats, and some body work bits.. Maybe the wheels aswell

Heated seats isn't easy as the wiring is in place for them. Would need the loom for them. SC kit is interesting but likely be expensive 6-7k by the time you do the suspension mods as well. Probably still cheaper than changing cars right enough. Maybe one for the future.
Npt to many body upgrades when you look at the kit. A lot of it is changes to the glass.

Just a technical question first--how did you manage to upload an image which when clicked is huge and hasn't been cut down to 640 pixels wide?

More importantly, thanks for posting this. Personally, I'm really psyched about this since over the next 3 years I'd like to end up taking my Evora S in to competition via the Lotus Cup. Exciting to know these pre-configured mods will be available down the line.

No idea! Bibs might have helped there..

I think this is provided by Lotus Racing, not necessarily Lotus cars. I don't know all the ins and outs, but I imagine these mods are track only - and that might invalidate the warranty(?)

Lotus are officially saying track use only and these parts do not come with approval or warranty for road use. Still trying to convince Lotus that they should make them so .......

Unlikely as they void the warranty anyway if you use the car on track, let alone race it. I can't see them selling them 'for road use only'..

According to the warranty - in three seperate mentions- it does. I have had conversations with Lotus about this before buying mine.. If you want to take it on track then you need to talk to your dealer to avoid voiding the warranty.

In the handbook it says your warrenty will be viod but on the bottom of the service sheet it says th opposite.
Insidentaly there is a 17 page GTN brochure that shows individual parts numbers for all the components so you could mix and match I guess.

Edit: found a PDF of the brochure Attached File  EVORA GTN BROCHURE (SinglePages).pdf   3.63MB   201 downloads

Mike, thanks for posting the PDF.

I haven't asked my dealer for a copy, and am a bit embarrassed to admit this, but while I'm familiar with the basics, I've never actually seen or read the fine print on an Evora S warranty. Anyone know if there's a PDF online? I couldn't find one. In any case, I'd like to sort out this business of whether or not track use voids everything. Thanks.

If you want to take it on track then you need to talk to your dealer to avoid voiding the warranty.

How does talking to your dealer avoid voiding? What specifically needs to be discussed/addressed, and how does the dealer override a factory warranty? Thanks.

Moxie, with my NA Evora my dealer gave me a page of info on track use. BUT NO MENTION OF EVORA ON IT. It might be for Elise based cars only.

Anyway, the sheet says, in terms, that track use is recognised as possible, but for that car must prepared by specialist and then warranty will be maintained for "any reasonable use" on track. Not for competitive or timed though. Lotus issue a "Pre-Track Session Check List" part number LSL520b. The sheet also says Dealer pleased to advise.

Also says that driver must be trained! Surely not those as good as you and I though!

Warranty aside, these products aren't approved for road use so if you fit them to a car you drive on the road you will probably void your insurance and may be breaking the law. Road going accessories along these lines are apparently under consideration at Lotus, but no indication as to when they may become available.

More time to save up it appears. A poster in another place has quoted a fairly good source reporting "The flyer was an early release of products they envisage to supply". That is the key point. More details there and not right to copy.

So it's back to wondering how Silverstone get their 300 bhp and whether Radium can be pushed up from its (CAI graphs) 298 bhp.

Not for competitive or timed though.

Thanks for the info. But regarding "reasonable" track day use, what else is there other than racing or time trials? I'm having dinner with my dealer next week and will see what he says since his background is racing and is one of the largest dealers in the US.

Track day use, as in not racing, no timing.. Just an ordinary track day.

Buying a Lotus and not being allowed on track? That's like buying a Maybach and not allowed to use the rear seats! :)
