OK, so the majority of us have (as easily predicted) transferred our "loyalties" to the Lotus sponsored Renault. Fair enough. The marque we drive is always going to heavily influence our allegiances, even if the connection is primarily via eponymous decals.

But it would be nice if Lotus themselves became more physically involved (hint, hint)in the metamorphosis seemingly taking place here.

In the meantime, I'm just as excited as the next Lotus fan to see the strong potential for some "in your face" name recognition at the pointy end of the grid.

Agreed!

However I will keep a close eye on the Caterham F1 team! They are all grown up and ready to uspet people on a regular basis! This year they have the total package and if they can resume where they left of last year! Williams, Sauber, Toro Rosso and Force India may not score as many points as last year!  Cheers to that!

I will just remind some of you who are getting excited by the testing results that last years fastest driver was......

Rubens Barrichello in the Williams. Just before their worst year ever. Andrew Bensons blogg is interesting today on the BBC site link below, well worth a read:

"Likewise, if anyone thinks Lotus driver Romain Grosjean is going to win this year’s world championship after setting the pace in Jerez this week, they will be waiting a long time for those pigs to fly in front of that blue moon."

That said I will watch the Lotus Team with interest this season, if not support them. This year I shall cheer on the minows as they struggle to make their mark. Caterham, because my friends a designer there, Force India because I have always supported them, Williams because I sat in the then brand new Evora with Franks Daughter and tried to sell it to her over her Porker and Sauber for sheer pluckiness and likeability of their drivers.
Possibly save your life. Check out this website.

Interesting that Alonso one the last day put in a quick lap and then was called in shortly thereafter.  I wonder if he gave the game away that they had been sandbagging all week?

Either sandbagging or they ran the car under weight and on fumes to avoid getting trashed by the Italian press for the next couple of weeks.
