Regarding this article -- http://www.autocar.c...AllCars/261333/ -- are there any others out there who've placed an order for an Evora S in the past few months and been quoted a delivery time or revised delivery time that takes the slowdown into account? I placed my order September 10 and think I'll be lucky to see the car by the end of May, which will be 7-8 months. Depressing, and perhaps a deal-breaker.

Is yours the special edition hand painted paisley chrome "one off" by Swizz? These things take time, Matt.:)

I placed a deposit Sept 27. I'm not sure when the order was officially put in. But I was given a build date, last week, of late March by my dealer. And that translates to... an April/May delivery?
Hang in there!

Thanks. So we're basically two weeks apart. I'll speak with my dealer on Tuesday. My real concern is that between overcoming the static inertia of being offline for two months and the possibility that the other models will be put first, that it'll drag in to the summer.

There is a delay on the 400 Exiges as well isn't there? Is this the fallout from the sale where they can't do anything for 90 days because they need to get these moving to get cash flow, surely?

I think they underestimated the time needed to certify the Exige. Can't imagine the slowdown is on production, as you said the cash flow is always in the interest of any shareholder. I hope Lotus is not losing money building the cars, rather spending heavily on development.

I think the moratorium (60 days btw, not 90) is drawing down shareholder funds and that could include shareholder secured bank loans - in his interview with EVO Bahar talked about careful cash management during this period. My guess would be some development activities might slow but production, assuming its for confirmed orders, would not be affected much. They need the cash to finance day to day operations.

Just curious--what color and specs did you order?

You're not thinking of breaking the queue on the paisley chrome now, are you Matt?

Polka dots. It's all about the green and yellow polka dots.

I know whereof you speak. A few hours ago, as the wife and I waited in the "cell phone lot" at the airport to pick up my son from his flight home for spring break, we happened to park right next to a multicolored polka dotted Honda being driven by a "free spirit" young lady. I kid you not. It was actually quite "catchy," in a Swizzle sort of way. I say go for it! :)

My friend Karen used to drive a Peterbilt cross country, including hauling sound for Metallica, and she used to want one in red with white polka dots. Personally, I think that would have looked amazing, particularly considering she had red hair down to her ass back then. It would have been like the ultimate accessory.
