I was casually browsing Pistonheads, planning to not buy anything (which is very different to not planning to buy anything, the former means no cars are allowed to be purchased the latter often results in an "Oops" situation and another car). I spotted an Excel marked on there as sold via Pistonheads, a very nice looking Excel SA LHD, but the price was £14995. I've been to UkSportscars site and on there it's also showing as sold.

Surely nobody paid nearly £15 for an Excel. I love them as a car to drive and feel they are under-valued relative to cars of the same quality & experience and relative to cars of an inferior quality & experience, but £15k?
OK, it's done only 5,000 miles so that means many bits have not warn out such as the interior but many bit will still wear out nearly as badly through lack of use as they would have if it was used frequently.

If you're after an Excel and a seriously good one then I'm sure someone would pay £15k... but for an Auto?

They were. MJK wasn't a fan of manuals so pushed for the SA. Never sold in huge numbers but it was needed to attract the USA market....which of course it never did!

Sounds like a bargain to me :harhar:

Joking aside its about time the Excel started to gain a bit of respect and value as its a great car.

It says it was sold. It does not state what price was paid. No guarantee it was sold either. I have advertised on Pistons before and you can update it yourself with the sold moniker.

Nice one. In 3 years you can put it all in a bag and carry it around once it has rusted away :D
