I'm not sure how many people actually look at the "Evoras Wanted" section so I'm cheekily also posting here in Evora Chat that I'm looking for a 2011 2+2 Evora S - more details here: http://www.thelotusf...a-used-evora-s/

It's not V6 LOT - there's a history to that as I thought I owned it for 8 days and objected to the ramped price when it was re-advertised: http://www.thelotusf...et/#entry269481

Still available for £2495 if anyone wants it for an Evora or Exige S.

I've got something else appropriate instead

On Friday evening I drove the Elise SC up to Leeds for 200+ miles in the dusk and dark with the roof off (lovely warm evening) and on Saturday morning dropped it in to JCT600. Mixed feelings about leaving it as it was a gloriously sunny day but 10 minutes in my new car and all was forgotten.

I drove the long way home, spending three hours driving through the Peak District and wow, what a car. Amazing handling and braking, phenomenal pace and a fantastic sound thanks to the Sport button and the pre-collection fitting of a decat pipe. A very comfortable and engaging driving position plus nice to be able to hear the stereo at motorway speeds.

A lot of interest from passers by as a drove through towns and villages, more than I had been expecting (but the exhaust does make a great sound). And it must have incredible presence on the road: as I approached slower traffic on the motorway almost everyone moved over to let me through and have a look as I passed.

Six hours later I was home, squeezed it into the garage (thank you, folding mirrors) and started contemplating my next outing.

A big thanks to Tim at JCT600 Leeds for being straightforward to deal with, doing a good deal on the Evora and trading in the Elise plus sorting out some bits like the decat. Also thanks to Byron at JCT for answering questions about the car and doing the technical prep. And thanks also to Paul at PDA in Harrogate for fitting Ventureshield and collecting & returning the car to JCT before I picked it up.

So here it is - MY11 Evora S 2+2 with all the packs, reversing camera, folding mirrors, diamond cut 19/20 wheels in Laser Blue with black leather:

Nice choice Tom. You have been posting in the Evora section for a long time so you deserve it! The colour, nice as it is in photos, I know looks even better in the flesh having seen a couple up in Jockland. Enjoy many happy miles in it.

Thanks Allan. It feels like it's been a long wait, having been one of the first people outside the factory to hear about Project Eagle and having originally had a deposit down on one of the first dozen or so Launch Edition cars. Bibs & I kicked off the Evora Forum on the day the car launched at the London Motor Show and I've had the number plate on retention since then too!

Bibs, good question about the plinth. When I'd asked JCT if they could trim the plate they'd originally said no, hence the cut down one from FancyPlates in the pic last week. I discovered when I picked it up that they'd done it and I realised it looked slightly odd with the standard sized plinth. I'm interested to hear if anyone has come up with a better solution that holds the plate neatly without sticking out either side. The current plinth looks like it's screwed to the bodywork so I suspect there will need to be some filling and painting.

Now just need to change your profile car... If we hadn't been tempted into ours a Laser blue one with the same spec as yours was high on the list. How much did the decat cost? I am keen to get it done next time we have ours in for some work.

Enjoy it!! It looks fantastic!!

Are federal plinths made for square plates? Would that fit better?

Hi Tom,

Great looking car, you must be over the moon. As for the front plate, perhaps a standard size one might look better / be less hassle. If you space the V6 and VOR close together in the middle then the white space at each end shows off the personal plate quite well?

Tom,

Car is looking lovely and the sun definitely bring out the best of the colour you have chosen.

I also had the same query relating to the plinth and decided to leave it standard (also had a letter, single number and 3 letters). To be honest I think it looks ok with the normal plinth with the white space either side. Can send you a couple of pics if you want to see it on ;-)

I think in the US there's no legal requirement for a front plate. Not sure if that's country wide or just certain states. Perhaps some US owners can advise if there's a different plinth. Some European countries have smaller front plates so might have a different arrangement - certainly Italy and maybe Spain too. If anyone has any ideas let me know. I'll take a look at the existing plinth in more detail and see if it could be cut down.

Think I'll stick a standard sized plate on it in the interim.
