Hi all,
What size is the bolt? I knackered the nyloc nut trying to get the bolt out (I will wait until I do the trunnionless mod to rectify that), but need to replace the nyloc nut. I took the old nut to my local supplier but he got it wrong, so if anyone knows what it is that would be great. If not I'll take the other nut off again and use that to find the correct size.
Cheers,
Simon

it would be an imperial if it's original (but could have been swapped to metric by somebody). I think most there are UNF aka NF (Unified National Fine, or National Fine depending on manufacturer).
Did you think it was metric? If so use your guess to determine what the imperial size is, 10mm is roughly 5/8, 8mm is roughly 9/16.

My local nuts and bolts place here in Tas is called 'Nuts and Bolts Tasmania'. They're really good, the sort of place that doesn't exist in many places anymore; you can take in a nut and normally they're spot on. They called 5/8 UNF on it, I'll try the nuts again that they've given me; I could have done some damage to the bolt's thread trying to liberate it. If I don't get anywhere I'll take the other side bolt out and give them a look; the sort of place it is they gave me a 5/8 UNF bolt to try matching the thread. The bolt is well and truly captive so as long as I get a nut of some sort on it I'll be happy, it will have to pass an inspection so it needs to look right.
Thanks,
Simon

If he'd have bothered to read my answer in his previous Trunnions Again thread & searched the Rimmer Bros site for the part number BH607201 he'd have seen that.

HE missed your post entirely; if you look at the post times I reckon I was typing away when yours was submitted. Thanks for the useful info though, like your reply about oil cans which I did bother to read (where do I get the time!) it is appreciated.
