For those believers who still claim Lotus F1 team is Lotus, they should read the last paragraph very carefully.
I'm happy to read that Lotus F1 team at least know who they really are!

Would be very happy to see Kimi winning, while he's honoring James Hunt, wearing James Hunt's his helmet colors

I'm really struggling to support Lotus Renault GP this year. I know they've got the name but they don't have the heritage. Having said that I'd really like to see them to well, esp Grosjean.

I think my prejudice is probably based on my intense dislike for Flabio Briatore. I can see him back in F1 very soon and worse back with the now Lotus team.

Do we have to have this boring conversation every time the F1 team is mentioned? Yes, they've just licensed the name, just like to the last bunch. At least this team seem to be respecting the licensing agreement and aren't just perpetually stuck at the back.

Good point, sure it's Lotus in name only but at least we can pretend for this season and they're at the right end of the grid.

I have no problem supporting that team, it's a good team but it's not Lotus, I decided to rename them Enstone! Their new management is playing the right cards, they have a history and they are proud of it and this history is not Lotus in anyway! Of all the teams Bahar and Berro decided to pick one of the team that actually competed when Team Lotus was still around... Dumb move... imo!

So, second row start for Grosjean tomorrow. Shame he had a miss that lost him about half a second on his best lap, as without that he could have gotten very close to pole. Regardless, Monaco is probably the track of the year where grid position is most important and from P4 he could be in for a strong finish, and with a good car, a bit of luck and a good tyre strategy maybe even a win

I heard that Kimi's steering problem on Thursday was that he didn't like the grips on the wheel!

Wouldn't it be the same wheel he has used all season? And with racing gloves on, how much would you actually feel?
On top of that, if Lotus changed his wheel, wouldn't they consult with him prior to practice at the next race?

Was he ok? Clean overalls for the marshal around 12 secs!

Looking forward to the race today, interesting gaggle in the first couple of rows, Webber's got a point to prove, Lotus are up there, Hamilton's on form and the dodgy tyres should throw make this one less of a done deal from the off.

The steering wheel is just click-on-off so can't really see why they then would disassemble the whole front suspension and bulkhead for that.

From what I understand the team had produced a new spec power steering rack for Kimi to this race. Looks like it wasnt quite right on the first attempt.

Yep, Conor was ok. Walked away. Don't think you could say the same for the car though. :no

Well, Grosjean made it about 300 metres. Race over. Thanks for coming.

There is a part of me that thinks these cars are just too fragile. Ok, it wasn't a small bump, but more often than not, any sort of contact results in someone going to the pub early.

Certainly those suspension components are very fragile and sadly in open wheel racing the most likely part to be hit or stressed during an incident.
Since moving to carbon fibre and making them all small wings themselves they are all too snappable!

Chris, says it all, may be it's boring Andrew but let's stop pretending and just drop the F1 link.It said to say but at this moment in time Lotus are no more into F1 than that Spanish bank on those red cars and a certain mobile phone operator that sponsors Jenson & Lewis. Enough said !

Gotta say that was the worst and most boring race...not only this season but for a few seasons. Utter rubbish!
