I have the orange Ford cooling fans with four blades.and so far have been unable to separate them from their Lucas motors. I've knocked out the clip, applied Plusgas to the inner shaft end and even tried gentle encouragement with a hammer but to no avail. I can only imagine it must be corrosion but there's not a degree of movement in either of the fans after all my manipulations. Can anyone tell me how they removed theirs?
Many thanks,
Si

Removed with an angle grinder
If you need one I have spare fans and blades.

That's very kind of you John,
Mine works but I wanted to check the bearing and perhaps clean and oil it as it was sounding slightly gritty.
I used the mallet with a little more urgency but there was no movement. Has anyone overcome this problem without damage or is grinder amputation the only way?

Hello Jetrace25,
I have done the removal of the fanblade from the motor this winter with a product called Omega 636. Its fantastic. A guy on the internet recomended it for removing the inlet manifold and manifold screws and nuts and i have used it since. Spray on and wait for an hour spray more and just remove it without any grinder or violence.
Over any other product for renovation i recomend it. Its like a WD-40 or 5-56 on speed.

Thanks for giving me hope Fred,
I always thought there was nothing better than Plusgas but I'm ready to give the Omega 636 a try.
Thanks again,
Si
