So no one here wants t celebrate the great performance of Lotus F1 in Hungary?

P2 for Kimi and P3 for Romain are the best results so far this year and a great team result.

When was the last time we had this much free and positive publicity in TV for the Lotus brand?

Good, no great job guys!

It was a great job. I was worried there would be two Lotus in the tyres after Kimi;s last pit stop but he had to go for it or Vettel would probably have got him.

Onwards and upwards.

An excellent race for Lotus! Kimi looks hungry for a win and with the upgrades they'll have at Spa who knows!

Lotus 2nd and 3rd in the F1 race, pole and 1st in GP2, pole and first in GP3.

A great weekeend for Lotus but try telling Kimi. Their second double podium of the season but he is not a happy bunny. He should have been on the front row but his Q3 lap was half a second slower than his Q2 lap. As he says, if they can nail qualifying the win is on the cards. Even Hamilton admitted the Lotus' were the fastest out there. Its looking good for Spa though.

Maybe then the miserable bugger will cheer up!!!

Great job done by the guys from "Renault from Enstone"!
I do wonder if McLaren didn't have Lewis, what a disaster their season would have been...
Spa will be a Red Bull circuit I'm afraid.

"Renault from Enstone"!

You do know that comment is getting exceedingly boring, don't you?
All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Gert, if you don't want Lotus to have a future just keep it up! :realmad:

But I'll bet that 99.9% of the people watching on TV don't know the difference and wouldn't care if they did.

Then, if 0.01% of these afterwards think they might have a look at one of these Lotus cars, and then maybe 0.1% actually buy one then the future of Lotus cars is safe! :bounce:

Fantastic result. Immensely favourable publicity for the Lotus brand, regardless of who's fabricating the hardware. My Esprit is part Renault. Does that make it any less a Lotus? The rest of the line is part Toyota (come to think of it, so is my Esprit), and they're no less a Lotus either. While it's true that the marque's F1 connection is 99% sponsorship (and free at that!), as has been pointed out several times, the majority of the fans could care less. If it quacks like a duck, ...

And if the Hungaroring had been wider than the ribbon that it is, there is not the least doubt in my mind that Kimi would have overtaken Lewis, and well before the final few laps. He was closing the entire time and by significant increments. IMO, the only reason he didn't make a more aggressive move at the very end (besides his final pit stop exit merge with Romain :w00t: ) was so as not to jeopardize a "sure thing" podium position. The risk on this specific track was simply too great.
Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose."

Some interesting comments from Hamilton on the BBC website -

"Hamilton took his victory, which came from pole position, following race-long pressure from the two Lotus cars of Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean and he said their pace proved McLaren still had to improve their car.
"We need to improve the car still in many areas, and that, I'm sure, we will do," he said.
"Lotus are going to win at some stage. That car looks absolutely fantastic to drive; they are doing a great job.
"It's not unexpected - they've won world championships in the past, they are a fantastic team. And they're picking their pace up. They're that quick and yet they don't have the rear end [exhaust-influenced aerodynamics] Ferrari, Red Bull and us have. When they get that, the rest of us are going to be in trouble."

Which National Anthem are we going to hear when Kimi or Romain should win???
How can you call yourself Lotus then, huh? I never knew Colin Chapman was a Frenchman. But if you feel that Lotus is French...

Gert, if you don't want Lotus to have a future just keep it up! :realmad:

I don't think that me thinking that this team has nothing to do with Lotus, will prevent Lotus from having a future. I'm not that important ;)
Even if it costs nothing, which is claimed by a person who is sacked as CEO from Lotus, for allegedly committing fraude/being dishonest, and so I don't believe him, not even for a split second, I still think it's better not to be in F1 on long term, if it is not your own team and you are just badge branding.

I'm 100% sure if "Renault from Enstone" was battling for 18th or 16th place, as the guys from Caterham are doing, the comments on here would be completely different. By the way Caterham is Malaysian, they're not even a bit better.

The anthem will be based on where their license if registered. I don't know whether they have a French or English license but a Malaysian license would be appropriate with Lotus' owners being Malaysian.

Anyway, aren't they now Lotus from Enstone like Mercedes from Brackley?

That would be Finnish and UK (For Kimi) or French and UK (for Romain)

According to Wikipedia Lotus F1 is British.

Remember Kimi is a Finn. They don't smile or jump about much in Finland. They are very serious :-)
