I have just been informed that I will not receive issue 6 because the magazine has been suspended - I have read the last 3 issues and in my opinion most of the stories were interesting esp. the car stuff also some nice photography (ok - too much self praise by the persons that left the company...) Maybe it would have been a better idea to change the style of it than stop it at all!

So before it is taken from the Lotus homepage I am gonna read the interview with Roger Becker again.......(btw: why can´t he turn back now that Dany boy left the company?)

They need to return to something more like the old club magazine, but of a bit better quality. Porsche's Christophorus magazine is much better, and so, from memory is Mercedes.

Let's not forget that the reason that people want to read these magazines is that they are interested in the brand and cars. If they want a lifestyle magazine there are lots (better) out there.

I quite liked the magazine to be honest although it was expensive. Are we to get a refund then?

I dread to think how much money each issue cost to produce, not a surprise it's been canned.

I was informed that I will be informed about the "official" suspension of the magazine and a refund in the "near future".

Good news IMHO. However nice the magazine it was always going to be a drain on money that could be better spent on improving the product range.

Quite logical! It wanted to be an exclusive mainstream magazine but really was an expensive car club magazine... I liked the concept of it but new management had to face the facts it did not really sell.

Makes sense and it'll be missed by me, but I doubt I'd have shelled my own money out for it, plus it must have cost a fortune to produce

Great news. Pretentious bollox and overcharging enthusiasts for a magazine that was more for Celebrity than us! Not to mention how much it must have cost the company.

I liked the old Lotus Magazine which was either free (with a car purchase) or a small cost under a £5. It had information about Lotus and it's cars and owners and what they were up to.

The old magazine wasn't free with a car purchase, that was what I suggested to the CEO at the time! It was an annual subscription, £25-30 I think it was and I offered the idea that a years subs comes with every new car bought!

1. Dany Bahar
2. 3 of his cohorts
3. 4, 5 & 6 cars no longer on the horizon
7. Magazine
8. My monies on the Indycar program next
9. Followed by "Life Style" retail.
So with a bit of luck we've got one left, lets hope it's an Esprit, which captures the market and sell like hot cakes.

Seriously, I've seen some gigantic egos from my days in IT, but Bahar must of thought he walked on water.

Oops, we're in trouble, I forgot the Exos !

Are magazines necessary any more? If their website is good and they use new media such as twitter and youtube properly it isn't necessary. Look how much Lotus news is cascaded through this forum!

Also check out the Aston Martin "channel" lots of great videos of Aston Martin's launch events and teasers, there is always something new there every few days so I regularly check and can forward links on to friends etc.

I personally liked the idea of the Magazine as an enthusiast until I saw the price. I'm a Lotus nut not a lunatic!
