Did you ever rebuild your water pump? I am about to order the kit from QED at £65 +vat and do mine so was after any hints.

Getting near to having a final prototype for the S1 Mirror, my mate has produced two perfect kevlar based replicas, I have tried the template glass which fits fine too.

The quality is spot on and the next ones will be made with black gel coat finish, I plan to drop lense template off to the glass cutters sometime next week to get a dozen cut.
Next job is to fit the bracket mount and then install the swivel unit for the gass so it can be adjusted from the bracket and lense.

Been a long road this one so I can see why no one has produced loads before, the mould Steve made from the original mirror is stunning, I will upload a pic when I get the chance.

Only going to make six of these as costs have got stupid now. We may make some GRP shells for spares at the end.

I was at Silverstone when they were on display before the auction in 1998, I was lucky enough to sit in PPW but not the turbo car. The estimate was £60k for the S1 and £30k for the turbo. All my friends told me to buy ppw at the time but I could'nt face the debt although had a mortgage approval at the time which would cover it. I was gutted when it sold for just over £28k and regretted my decision ever since.
I think you are right about how rare your car is Paul as I have done a DVLA search on my previous Esprit's and 7 out of the 10 have now got export markers against them leaving just Ken Bairds car, a S3 and my first S1 which has a turbo kit fitted still on UK roads.
I have checked a few which I have pictures of which have been offered my way over the years and a fair few of these are showing as exported abroad too.
Obtaining S1's is becoming hard these days altough they do pop up now and again most are later models. Glad it bought mine when I did now as I could see the problem coming.
Look after it my friend as I doubt you would replace a Tartan/White S1 in RHD now.
