RH fuel rail, shraeder valve leaking

12 March 2012 - 02:46 PM

Hy there ..

this turns out to be a bad start into the season.

On 4 of march 2012 we already testet the car, after snow & ice it was the first time on track again.  All went well ..apart from a broken cable for the rear luggage/tailgate (now fixed temporarly).
But my passenger notet that I have a stronger smell of fuel than on other days last year. It was also hard to get the engine starting within the last couple of weeks. The starter motor needed notable more time to crank until the engine starts & idles stable, and while I have fixed the problem on the starter (magnet-switch) caused by overstressing and all those odd trys of cranking -it is now all back in.

Engine tested ..and there you have it -two 'prime' cycles are not enough to start the car, the starter motor cranks the engine really long ..and after inspection there is a loss in fuel pressure
-sadly not a easy raplacable fuel pipe, no .. just under the black plastic cap that covers the shraeder-valve from dirt.

So the question:

Is the actual inner shraeder-valve (the control valve to plug a pressure tester into the fuel system) replacable (just like a tire valve??)  ..or is it as the part number A918E0038F for the RH rail suggest just a 'one piece' replacement item ?

Is a good used one available somewhere, with a tight not leaking shraeder-valve body  ??

Amp drain on 'window-voltage-module'

07 January 2012 - 10:03 PM

2Amp fuse *A23   (front fuse box)
#
..how much is there running in 'sleep mode'  of the car ?

Seems that sometimes my window lift switches stayes 'on' (iluminated) , even if the car is closed and armed/ the doors locked by the fob. The Amp drained in this situation is at least by around 40mA permanently (comparision: -radio is 10mA permanently, ECM is around 5mA permanent) , so together with other steady drain (battery refresher and so on..) I've tested it today and the car does have around 80-90mA permanently. No wounder that the battery is always running down on longer periods if the car is not used.

How much have you guys & girls there on your car ?

Is there a known problem with this module .. I've tried to find a possible fault only by inspecting the related wiring plans, but came out with nothing exactly so far

Road trip to Asia

12 November 2011 - 12:27 AM

Hi folks ..

I would like to announce that there will be a nice couple from Berlin on its way to and around Asia. Starting in Europe by the end of the year .. so if you see this little yellow Bus coming on your way, say *hello* ;)

For some obvious reasons (this continent is so huge, as we all know..) I think every contact there on the way would be of good use for those young people. They are already prepared in a way you would have to do for a round trip across Asia, but every little extra preparation helps. As so, and as the Lotus community is known in Malaysia, Singapore and Honk Kong too ..and there are now even enthusiast in India and China  –I thought why not give a support in form of assistance to find the special places, good useful contacts, or information ..or even give them a stay for a night.
You can contact them in facebook under

..many thanks for your attention !

yellow paint code verification ..urgent

03 November 2011 - 08:33 PM

the problem is, the paint job on the front bumber & valance on my car was not done as I expect it.

The car is labeled with *B05* in the front luggage compartement, and the painter matched that in the right way I would say on rear & front body end, and on some touch up on the rear bumper too.. .

But the front bumper & valance look (fittet directly on the car) much brighter, you could say "more sunny and like real yellow" ...whereas the *B05 code does look more like 'Mustard' (as within the name 'Norfolk mustard/Mustard yellow') and so with an more darker/ ochre looking shade .

So based on those description, can I say he has misinterpreted it with A64 yellow ..?

just an other GT1 Esprit replicate ..?

17 October 2011 - 12:15 AM

so not sure if this is alreaddy discussed in here -but what kind of car is this? Posted Image

Is it just an other "wanna be"-replicate based on a stock bodied car (like Mike Sekinger's. old S350 GT1 project)
-or is it really the same type of works car like the one sold/offered later on by Mike S. &  M.Haines-racing  ?

Looks for me like an "self build" looka like project...
