Introduced in 1958, Formula Junior was the training ground for future Grand Prix drivers. Jim Clark's Lotus 18 leads John Surtees at Goodwood, on March 19th 1960. This was Clark's first single seater victory and also Surtees' first ever car race, driving Ken Tyrrell's Cooper-Austin. Starting from pole position, he enjoyed a good dice with Clark, who won the 10 lap race and recorded the fastest lap. This was also the first ever victory for a Ford Cosworth engine.
This was a very significant moment for Team Lotus and, as ever, Andrew Kitson has captured it in a splendid way. Classic Team Lotus is pleased and proud to have been invited by Andrew to endorse another of his fine Team Lotus paintings.
