Lotus and the Ford Cosworth DFV engine are inextricably linked.

Colin Chapman, Keith Duckworth and Mike Costin worked together to create the greatest engine motor sport has ever seen. The DFV powered F1 cars from 1967 to 1985, an astonishing 19 seasons in the rarified atmosphere of Grand Prix where innovation was king and one season’s World beater would be next season’s backmarker.

In the 70s and 80s the team was in the habit of keeping the pistons from rebuilds to use as VIP gifts.

Classic Team Lotus also keeps the pistons from the rebuilds of the engines it maintains today and with a great deal of polishing, then mounting on a wooden plinth, complete with presentation plaque, makes a rather special item of memorabilia.

These pistons come with a certifiate issued by Classic Team Lotus, signed by Clive Chapman.
