Ex-CEO Dany Bahar’s V8 Esprit for sale

In late 2010 Lotus ex-CEO Dany Bahar had his staff at the factory complete an extensive restoration of a 2002 V8 Lotus Esprit. The work included a rebuilt engine and gearbox being installed into the car less than 1,000 miles ago, a bespoke interior in leather and SuedeTex and new pearlescent white respray. Dany Bahar dismissed as CEO from Lotus

The new owners of Lotus, DRB-Hicom today announced via a press release that Dany Bahar has been terminated from his role at Lotus as CEO. This follows an announcement less than two weeks ago of his suspension while an investigation into his 'conduct' was carried out by the penultimate parent company. Dany Bahar had been CEO of Group Lotus for just over two and a half years and while the news is alight with rumours of his excessive spending causing DRB alarm, the real reason for his termination is unknown. Lotus CEO Dany Bahar suspended

National and international press have reported that Lotus CEO Dany Bahar has been suspended from his position as CEO of Lotus for a 'conduct' issue. A statement from the owners of Lotus, DRB Hicom issued last Friday (25th) states "Group Lotus plc ("Lotus") can today confirm that, following an operational review, chief executive Dany Bahar has been temporarily suspended from his role to facilitate an investigation into a complaint about his conduct made by Lotus' penultimate parent company, DRB-Hicom Berhad," Group Lotus have no comment to add currently nor do DRB … [Read more...]

Lotus were again occupying a decent amount of floorspace at this year's Salon De L'Automobile at Geneva's Palexpo, similar in size and location to the 2011 stand. With a total of 9 cars on display to the press on the 6th March there were 2 new variations of existing products, namely the carbon fibre bodied Lotus F1 Edition Evora GTE, limited to a run of 5 cars and the MY2012 Exige S Roadster, a soft-top and more 'lifestyle' edition of the hardcore 3.5l V6 Exige. Lotus Originals opens factory shop in Hethel

While visiting Hethel to do some filming for our Esprit S1 documentary, Tony K and I, along with Gordon Masson, attended the opening of Lotus’s first LOTUS ORIGINALS retail shop, which also serves as a model for future dealership interiors with the ribbon-cutting by Dany Bahar and Bruno Senna. Many of us TLFers have taken a poke at the prices for the new merchandise, but having seen it up close there really was no denying the quality, which is certainly on par with Ferrari, Porsche, or Lamborghini swag, and similarly priced.
