6th & 8th for Evora GTE at Spa Super GT rounds

Lotus Giudici Racing finished eighth and sixth respectively in the weekend’s two Super GT races at Belgium’s legendary Spa circuit. The Evora GTE’s talents in the wet were put on display on Sunday, outpacing Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, McLaren and Corvette. With team owner Gianni Giudici sidelined due to a neck problem sustained during qualifying, it fell to Lotus works racer Johnny Mowlem to do all the driving work. Points for Mowlem at Nurburgring Super GT round

Works driver Johnny Mowlem started the 70 minute-long first race from 13th and fought up to sixth place in the Super GT class, the team’s best finish in an international field. For Race 2 he started 14th, but was hit at the first corner and suffered a broken diffuser. The team lost a lap as they made hurried repairs. Then they were handed a drive-thru penalty for being two seconds under the minimum time that teams can spend in the pits. Lotus Jetalliance has achieved its set goal in today’s finale of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cups inChina: Both Lotus Evora GTE made it to the finish at the “Six Hours of Zhuhai”. As a long and challenging season draws to a close, Lotus Jetalliance looks forward to a strong finishing performance from both Evora GTE cars at the Six Hours of Zhuhai in China this weekend (November 12th/13th). The first challenge has already been overcome simply by the team being in attendance at the race this weekend. Following the successful outcome the last time out at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Lotus Jetalliance wanted to score points again in the fourth round of the ILMC. Lotus legends open new Hethel test track

Nigel Mansell officially opened Group Lotus’s revised and restored Hethel test track with a roar from the 1981 Essex-Lotus 81B in which he started his glorious Formula One career more than 30-years-ago. Mansell led a convoy of seven stunning racing cars from the Lotus stable, including the innovative 1980 Type 88 twin-chassis car – which the rule makers never allowed to race; the Lotus Type 125 Exos Experience car driven by fellow F1 legend Jean Alesi; and a brace of Lotus Renault GP cars piloted by current F1 stars Vitaly Petrov and Bruno Senna.
