GP2 – SPA FRANCORCHAMPS Lotus-ART driver Jules Bianchi edged closer to securing second place in the championship in Spa with two second places. The Frenchman qualified third for Race 1 and passed Luca Fillipi at the start. When a mid-race safety car led the field for eight laps, Bianchi managed to maintain enough heat in his tyres and engine to defend from Romain Grosjean and retain second place. Successful weekend in GP2 & GP3 for Lotus

GP2 – HUNGARY A podium finish for Esteban Gutierrez in Sunday’s sprint race, thanks to an aggressive drive from the back, gave the Lotus-ART team a result they could be very proud of. In the feature race team-mates Jules Bianchi and Gutierrez lined up sixth and ninth respectively. The Frenchman lost a couple of places at the start while Gutierrez retired four laps later with an engine problem. Victory for Bianchi in GP2 at Silverstone

It was the first win in the series for the young French driver. Followed by a fine 5th place finish in the second race, it enabled him to move up from 15th to 7th place in the overall ranking. With 14 points, it was Lotus ART’s best single-meeting total for the season. Jules Bianchi scored his first GP2 Asia win today after taking the lead at the start, suffering race-long pressure from pole sitter Romain Grosjean, and in spite of a red flag. Davide Valsecchi finished third giving Team AirAsia a podium finish on their race debut. It was an all-French front row today at Yas Marina Circuit for the first race of the 2011 GP2 Asia Series, with Grosjean ahead of Bianchi.
