Lotus in ‘positive discussions’ with new owners DRB-Hicom

Follow on from recent speculation regarding the current state of affairs in Hethel, a Group Lotus spokesperson said to TLF: “The new Proton owners DRB-HICOM are currently in the middle of their due diligence of Group Lotus. There have been and continue to be positive discussions between Group Lotus senior management and senior management at DRB-HICOM both here in Hethel and inMalaysia. Lotus's longest established dealership, Bell & Colvill opened the doors of their showroom for 2 days recently to allow potential customers the chance to get close to the MY12 Evora in both manual and IPS variants and try for themselves the updated and improved car. Joint Press Release: Group Lotus Plc and PROTON Holdings Berhad 1Malaysia Racing Team, Caterham Cars and Tony Fernandes Proton, Group Lotus, 1Malaysia Racing Team and its owner Tony Fernandes are delighted to announce that the legal dispute in the English Courts relating to the "LOTUS" and "TEAM LOTUS" brands has now ended amicably with the parties agreeing settlement terms earlier this month. Lotus again are back in the Premiership with a new 5 year deal announced which will see the company commit a seven figure sum to the club over it's duration. The new sponsorship was announced at the Carrow Road stadium with players from the team and racing drivers from Lotus in attendance along with a selection of Lotus's motorsport and road cars.
