Walker leads LCE at Magny-Cours

Race one

The second round of the 2012 Lotus Cup Europe season saw the drivers return to the Magny-Cours circuit in central France, home to the French Grand Prix for nearly 20 years. A fast track, with several technical corners, it would provide a challenging lap for the competitors, albeit one that many had driven on two previous occasions. The Rasse brothers would be facing tough competition from Olivier Georges, the star of round one, whilst Jon Walker and Magny-Cours specialist Christophe Lisandre were also expected to be at the head of the field. Taking place … [Read more...]

Lotus Cup Europe – Round 1 race report

2.Nathalie_Genoud_Prachex

Jon Walker was ready to continue his great Nürburgring form in Lotus Cup Europe last weekend but the Eiffel snow wasn’t the only spoiler, as 2-Eleven convert Xavier Georges took pole position as the drivers adapted well to the arctic conditions. However Walker regrouped to take the race one win, despite a spin that had looked set to hand victory to Gregory Rasse’s Evora. Georges took third place and full advantage of Walker’s problems in race two, however fuel starvation problems on the final lap handed a great win to John Rasse’s Exige, who led his brother … [Read more...]

Second in both races was Mark Fullalove, adding to previous successes in Lotus Cup UK with the 2-Eleven wins. Completing a podium … [Read more...]

LoTRDC – Zolder race report

Race 2 - Rasse leads Pochauvin

Jon Walker was the man to beat at Zolder, however Belgian racer John Rasse recorded his first overall win in Lotus Cup Europe, which supported a well-attended round of the FIA European Truck Championship. Rasse's success rewarded a gritty drive in which he overcame an early challenge from Rémi Pochauvin plus a late surge by Phillipe Loup, and came twelve months after being denied of the top spot at the same circuit. Rasse is only the second man to win outright with an Exige Cup class car since LoTRDC took over organisation of the series in 2009. Loup's challenge … [Read more...]

Mark Fullalove added a pair of victories to his Silverstone win in a combined Lotus Cup UK and Europe race that counted for points in the UK Championship. The former BTCC racer was tracked by Steve Williams in both races but was able to maintain a safe gap on both occasions. Jon Walker took second on the road from the back of the grid in the later race, but was docked a place as he overtook Williams under yellow flags. His eventual third place followed up a podium for Rob Fenn in race one. Ken Savage took the Production class wins, with the Rasse brothers taking the … [Read more...]

Following an extended stay in France, the series returned to the legendary Nurburgring circuit, set in the picturesque Eifel mountains, for round three. Jon Walker won at this circuit last year and has hopes of lasting the distance this time round, whilst the Rasse brothers intend to improve upon their early season results, as does Christophe Lisandre. David and Rob Fenn aim to continue their form … [Read more...]

A modern Formula One venue, the circuit is wide, open and not without a little gradient. Remi Pochauvin proved himself to be a class act at that first round but the Rasse brothers were not far behind, nor was Phillipe Loup.
