With Bernardo Sousa unfortunately out of the Madeira Rally after technical issues meant he crashed causing chassis damage, let's remind ourselves of happier times with the car properly sideways during testing in the run up to the event. Exige R-GT gets FIA go ahead to compete in Madeira

The long awaited Lotus Exige R-GT has received its starters orders from the FIA and makes its competition debut this weekend at Round 7 of the European Rally Championship in Madeira, Portugal. The FIA has homologated the car ready for competition and it is the first car to pass the FIA R-GT regulations. The car will be raced by the works Lotus International Rally Team crew of Bernardo Sousa and co-driver Corrado Mancini. Exige R-GT to be course car at Geko Ypres Rally

Legendary British sports car marque Lotus will make its debut as a course car at Belgium’s Geko Ypres rally on the 21-23 June. Portuguese driver Bernado Sousa, who is set to race the Lotus Exige R-GT later this year will drive this official car ahead of its entry in the FIA European Rally Championship and the Intercontinental Rally Challenge. As part of the continuous development programme of the Exige R-GT comes its first participation albeit as a course car in a rally event. Lotus Racing set for tarmac & grass roots

Rallying The Lotus International Rally team is set to make its race debut in April in the FIA European Rally Championship. In partnership with Italian team United Business, who won the title last year, the hotly anticipated Exige R-GT will be painted in Lotus’ iconic black and gold colour scheme.
