Romain Grosjean to race alongside Kimi Räikkönen in 2012

Lotus Renault GP and TOTAL are delighted to announce that Romain Grosjean will race alongside 2007 world champion Kimi Räikkönen next season. The two companies are also pleased to confirm that they have renewed their sponsorship agreement for another year. The 2011 GP2 Series champion gained useful experience with the team throughout the year as LRGP’s third driver. As part of his role, Romain was rewarded with two practice session drives at the final two races of the season in both Abu Dhabi and Brazil. Kimi Räikkönen signs for LRGP

Lotus Renault GP is pleased to announce that Kimi Räikkönen will race for the team next season. The 2007 World Champion, who left Formula 1 at the end of 2009 to pursue a career in rallying, has decided to make a comeback at the pinnacle of single-seater racing. He has now signed a two-year agreement with Lotus Renault GP. Kimi’s F1 roll of honour includes 18 wins, 62 podiums and 16 pole positions. LRGP concluded a trying 2011 season with an additional point to the season tally thanks to a measured and composed drive from Vitaly Petrov as rain threatened but never arrived at Interlagos. Bruno Senna meanwhile, endured a frustrating race with loss of fourth gear and a drive through penalty for contact with Michael Schumacher. • Both cars started on the soft tyres. Race day at the Yas Marina Circuit resulted in a disappointing performance from LRGP. Joint Press Release: Group Lotus Plc and PROTON Holdings Berhad 1Malaysia Racing Team, Caterham Cars and Tony Fernandes Proton, Group Lotus, 1Malaysia Racing Team and its owner Tony Fernandes are delighted to announce that the legal dispute in the English Courts relating to the "LOTUS" and "TEAM LOTUS" brands has now ended amicably with the parties agreeing settlement terms earlier this month. F1™ name changes approved by FIA

The BBC are reporting that in a meeting today of senior figures in F1™ it has been decided that Lotus Renault GP will race as Lotus in 2012 and Team Lotus will be renamed Caterham resolving the dispute between the teams which has seen the Lotus name being fought over in court this year. Virgin will also be renamed to Marussia. LRGP – Indian GP race report

LRGP endured a frustrating Indian Grand Prix. Both drivers were able to improve on their starting positions, however, showing reasonable pace from the R31. • Vitaly was one of three cars to start on the hard tyres. He pitted on lap three for a set of softs, and lap 33 for another soft set.
