Victory for Lotus Sport UK’s Evora GT4 at the ‘Ring

Lotus Sport UK’s Sailesh Bolisetti and Phil Glew raced their Evora GT4 to class victory for the first time this year when the Avon Tyres British GT Championship descended on the Nürburgring’s Grand Prix circuit ahead of the weekend’s main event, the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. The Lotus pair had disappointed in Race 1 on Friday, arriving fifth in class, but made up for it in Race 2. A huge crowd was present for the support race on Saturday. Lotus Evora Of Glew/Holmes Takes GT4 Win At Silverstone

A brilliant performance from Phil Glew and Chris Holmes gave the Lotus Sport UK team something to celebrate as the Avon Tyres British GT Championship drew to a close at Silverstone. Starting from GT4 pole position the #48 Lotus Evora lead the class from the off, with their nearest competitor the #50 Ginetta of Denis/McDonald running close with them in the early stages. Evora takes the win in British GT

Lotus Sport UK was triumphant in Round 9 of the British GT Championship, with the red, white and gold No.48 Evora winning the GT4 category from pole position. It was the first class pole for the team. Touring Car regulars Phil Glew and James Nash lapped Donington Park 100 times during the three hour endurance race, which started in wet and tricky conditions. No.48 incurred a stop-go penalty late in the day after speeding at the exit of the pitlane, but the car was already a lap ahead of the competition. Ollie Jackson and Phil Glew took their first class victory of the year, and the maiden win for the Lotus Evora GT4. The Lotus Sport UK team were on course to win the first race but were taken out of contention due to a safety car issue. The lead Evora was waved through by the safety car driver just as it came into the pits, demoting Jackson and Glew by a lap. They fought back to fourth place while the other Evora of Freddy Nordstrom and Leyton Clarke finished third but with accident damage.
