“Lotus in F1″ naming dispute over

Joint Press Release: Group Lotus Plc and PROTON Holdings Berhad 1Malaysia Racing Team, Caterham Cars and Tony Fernandes Proton, Group Lotus, 1Malaysia Racing Team and its owner Tony Fernandes are delighted to announce that the legal dispute in the English Courts relating to the "LOTUS" and "TEAM LOTUS" brands has now ended amicably with the parties agreeing settlement terms earlier this month. F1™ name changes approved by FIA

The BBC are reporting that in a meeting today of senior figures in F1™ it has been decided that Lotus Renault GP will race as Lotus in 2012 and Team Lotus will be renamed Caterham resolving the dispute between the teams which has seen the Lotus name being fought over in court this year. Virgin will also be renamed to Marussia. Tony Fernandes Awarded CBE

Tony Fernandes ,Team Lotus Team Principal, AirAsia Group CEO and Malaysia's iconic entrepreneur, has been awarded a Commander of the Order of the British Empire honour by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The citation says the award was conferred "for services to promote commercial and educational links" between the United Kingdom and Malaysia. Fernandes, together with three partners, took over the loss-making AirAsia from a Malaysian government-linked company in December, 2001. And The Winner Is…

We know, we know, it's very confusing but this is the winner of this competition set by Lotus Racing (now Team Lotus) to design a suggested livery for their 2011 F1 car. This was before Group Lotus announced that they had bought out Renault from F1 and we now have Lotus Renault GP who have already announced they'll be running a black & gold car in 2011.  Team Lotus will be sticking with green & yellow for next year however this livery should make it onto their car for some events and displays. Last week Team Lotus terminated the 5 year contract with reserve driver Fairuz Fauzy after just 12 months. The 28 year old Malaysian completed 2 test days for Team Lotus over the winter and 5 Friday Free Practise sessions throughout the season.
