Brazilian Grand Prix - Saturday

LRGP concluded a trying 2011 season with an additional point to the season tally thanks to a measured and composed drive from Vitaly Petrov as rain threatened but never arrived at Interlagos. Bruno Senna meanwhile, endured a frustrating race with loss of fourth gear and a drive through penalty for contact with Michael Schumacher. • Both cars started on the soft tyres. Race day at the Yas Marina Circuit resulted in a disappointing performance from LRGP. LRGP endured a frustrating Indian Grand Prix. Both drivers were able to improve on their starting positions, however, showing reasonable pace from the R31. • Vitaly was one of three cars to start on the hard tyres. He pitted on lap three for a set of softs, and lap 33 for another soft set. He finished in 11th. • Bruno started on the soft tyre, stopping for a set of softs on lap 22 and a set of hards on lap 56. • At the end of the first lap, Bruno was in 10th position and Vitaly 15th. LRGP suffered a tough Korean Grand Prix in Yeongam with an early exit for Vitaly and a hard-fought battle to gain a couple of places from a lowly starting position for Bruno. Vitaly out-braked himself and made race -ending contact with Michael Schumacher whilst fighting for position with Fernando Alonso. LRGP took ninth position in the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka, showing renewed pace from the R31 after the setback of Singapore. Vitaly Petrov made a late blast on option tyres to take points whilst Bruno Senna finished in 16th. • Vitaly stopped on laps 18 and 39, using a medium, medium, soft strategy. • Bruno stopped on laps 15 and 35, using a medium, medium, soft strategy. • At the end of the first lap, Vitaly was in 10th position and Bruno 13th. • A safety car period started on lap 25, early in both drivers’ second stints on medium tyres. After 61 difficult laps Bruno and Vitaly finished the fourth edition of the Singapore Grand Prix in 15th and 17th respectively. • Bruno clipped the wall early on in the race, resulting in an extra pit stop in order to change his front wing.
