Hello all, like many young James Bond fans, i have always dreamt of owning an Esprit. When an S3 came up for sale, very close to home, i had to have a look. The previous owner had spent many thousands sorting it, as well as a complete respray. He needed to sell to make room for an AC Cobra replica, so i bit the bullet. I've made a few small mods here and there, a new android headunit, remote central locking and a reversing camera, with more to come. I took some shots by the Forth Rail Bridge as it was a rare sunny day in Scotland. Simon I also own a white S1.

Hi everyone. After 40 years of admiring the Esprit, i have finally got round to purchasing one. A 1979 S2 in red and black interior. I will add it to the register when i have time. I look forward to a few hours reading some of the forum content. A bit about me: Automotive electrical and electronics design engineer / manager, Ex Lotus Engineering employee and Ex Lotus Cars Employee, particularly working on the Esprit (New model that never got launched) and various other projects in Lotus Engineering, Evora, Elise etc. Worked at various other manufacturers such as AML, JLR, Lamborghini, Mercedes, Vinfast, GWM etc etc. Regards Andy

Time to complete the trilogy! History 2012 - Lotus Evora NA✔️ 2015 - BMW M3 V8✔️ 2016 - S2 Elise T25 SC✔️ 2018 - Porsche GT4 ClubSport✔️ 2023 - Exige 410Sport 😜 Excited to be live on this platform again for some friendly banter (have been lurking occasionally in the background) and advice but more importantly, really excited to be back in a Lotus after 5 years. GT4 is the best car I’ve personally ever owned to date. All things considered including feel I think it’s unbeatable in the sub £100k car market when you take into account performance (tussle hard all day long with GT3’s and McLaren’s), noise, looks, quality/reliability a…

Exige 430 cup Metallic grey Current mileage 8.7miles 1st owner Located in South East of London I've yet to see any lotus cars as they seem to rare as hens teeth which is a good thing, I look forward to my lotus journey and meeting you all someday soon

Hi everyone. 👋 I've just taken the plunge and bought a 1990H X180 Esprit Turbo SE with 39k on the clock. It has been SORN for almost 10 years and apparently runs poorly under 4000rpm, but sings above that. I've had it trailered to a local specialist and waiting to hear what they think about.....sure it's going to be complimentary 🙄 Car has huge amounts of lacquer peel so a full respray will be needed further down the line.......hope it gets to that stage. It's not looking its best, but I hope there is a salvageable car in here somewhere. It has lots of history and has been in a few lotus car clubs over the years. I'll make a thr…

Like most of you on here I have loved the Lotus esprit from an early age. In fact I have nearly purchased one on 4 separate occasions... 3 x Stevens and an S1 (all NAs) but After inspections or other reasons the deals never quite worked out.. That was over 10 years ago, but I still can't shake off the urge to own an Esprit. At the moment I am just reading up on things to look out for and collecting as much info a possible before deciding what to go for. i also need to decide whether to sell my current toy first or have two toys.. This will impact my budget though.. The one thing I am concerned about is my garage size, the opening is 210cm wide and inside is 236cm wide.. …

Hi Lotus community Last year I was able to fulfill a lifelong dream and buy my Lotus Exige 410 Sport. My brother was a car mechanic for a long time and worked on Lotus / Caterham. When they had a grey Exige S1 in the showroom in 2000, I was thrilled. The dream of one day owning such a car was permanently implanted in my brain. As a realization became more possible, I rented an Elise S in 2020 and a Seven Roadsport in 2021 for 3 days each. Since I didn't felt comfortable in the Seven, it was clear that it would be a Lotus. First I looked around for an Elise S3 or Exige S2. When I test drove an Elise 250 cup, I was not 100% convinced and asked for a test drive w…

Hello Lotuscommunity, A member of this community recommended this expert forum to me. my name is Alex from Germany / Bavaria and I have been driving an Elise 111 R with Bemani KIT since 2007. NOW I NEED YOUR PROFFESIONAL ELISE 111 R KNOWLEDGE AND SUPPORT I have a bet going with another Elise 111 R driver in a Lotus forum in Germany. The loser has to donate 40€ to a children's organisation. The bet is as follows... "Find an Elise 111R that was registered before 01.12.2003 or mby December 2003." It has to be a real existing Elise with an owner and a recent photo with details. The production date is not rel…

Hi guys - your advice and thoughts will be greatly appreciated, I’m either about to make one of the most exciting decisions of my life, or maybe not! A bit of history first, I’ve been lucky enough to own some fantastic cars, including a BMW E30 M3, Audi RS2, 993 turbo bodied 2S, Evo XI 450 bhp etc. Currently I share an E92 M3 with a good friend which has been brilliant but is too heavy & really requires a suspension upgrade to unleash its full potential. Our priorities are fun, reliability, amazing suspension and residual values; we want something that is a real event to drive and has the suspension to cope with the bumpy roads of Yorkshire and won’t cost us a fo…

Hi folks Nice to join this forum at last. I got my Exige 350 Sport a year ago - it's simply wonderful. The last owner did a few visual mods - I've added a soft top (oh wow what a transformation it makes to the whole experience), a decent CarPlay head unit, speakers etc and a new plate. Looking forward to meeting folks here and in real life! If anyone's a follower of JayEmm on YouTube, the car was featured a couple of months ago. It's had a good clean since then - it's amazing how grubby it got in 50 miles on the way to filming. Nick

Better late than never, it is said. Hoping that is true, despite a post count seemingly beyond the limit of TLF’s arithmetic ability, I will cling to the thought and offer as much of an explanation as I am able. Not so much an introduction though, as a brief review. And one allowing me some self-expression. Firstly, at last I have become a paid up proper member of TLF. Secondly, I’m celebrating having stopped journeying with Lotus. Figuratively, I’m now parked up in a model that has been something of an ambition: an Evora GT410 Sport. My third Evora in fact, following an early Launch Edition that I hugely enjoyed taking to 300 bhp and added torque throughout via my o…

Hello everyone, I want to introduce myself as being the new owner of an Evora GT410 painted in Lizard Green with factory fitted Ohlins dampers and Titanium exhaust. Got the car about a month ago, at 35900km and have driven less than 800km since than due to the horrible weather 😔. It wasn't a car I originally considered, but after a lot of test drives with things like AMG GTs, 911s (997 and 991.1), Caymans (GT4s and GTS), V8 Vantage S (at 6'4 I struggled to fit in this one, but that engine sound...), Mustang GT350, F-Type R and some M and AMG models, all of them very nice cars but they left me completely unsatisfied. This was going to be 2nd car so originally l…

Hi everyone, I’m new here and have spent the last 12 months or so looking into Lotus cars with three in mind. An Exige S2, Elise Cup or an Exige S3. However after looking at various lotus’s of each model above with an itch to scratch it was a tough choice. A few days ago I found the perfect car after being let down by many S2 Exiges not meeting my standards and opting to leave the V6 Cup for a later scratch to itch as they say, so I didn’t end up with an S2 Exige, but instead I found the perfect and as described car in the S2 Exiges ultimate evolution/successor and I couldn’t be happier, an S3 Elise S-Cup. Some photos attached 👍🏻

Hi good evening everyone! In October I bought an Evora 400 in yellow with black leather and yellow stitching. I´ve been enjoying the car for few months and so far quite happy with the purchase. The car is still under warranty so I´ve been couple of times at the local dealer to check minor things (tyre noise of the PS4, brake pedal switch replaced...) Thanks everyone for the huge amount of info shared that is really helpful. Jose

Hi all, After 8 years owning an Elise S2 rover 120 with a handful of upgrades, I thought it was time for a change. She gaves me lots of joy and I was very sad to see her go. After some time reseaching and hesitating with an Alpine, I just bought a stunning 2013 Exige V6 in metallic silver. I should be happy as its an incredible car but for now I must admit I think I still miss my Elise. Part is because I have a few issue with the Exige, other part because although the accelerations were nowhere near, the sound of the mighty (tuned) rover and the agility of the Elise miss me very much. From the interior, the Exige makes almost no noise in comparison! I guess I w…

Dear All, I got the car yesterday. Sport exhaust is beautiful. Except for an option I don't have (audio pack clarion with sound insulation pack) whereas I asked it and paid for it, everything is good. I have few questions like I think all beginners :-) (fuel gauge, fuel consumption, digital speed in mph not in km/h) so I will browse the forums to get answers

Hello, My name is Florian, 39 y/o, mechanical engineer, I come from the north east of France, and I'm a British car enthusiast since my 17th birthday. My first car was a classic Mini, the second one too, and it is always in my garage. During the last 20 years, I owned several British cars as a daily driver, a MGF VVC MY2000 and a R53 Cooper S for example. But I also restored and kept a 73' Mini Van, a MG 1275 Metro and a TVR S3C. And I'm not talking about the 2 other Minis and the other Metro, that are not prone to run... I own a 300m² garage to park the cars, and to work on it, with a 10 meter workbench and a 2-post car lift. Yes, I love cars... and particularly Bri…

So I made a silly (😉) decision last week, and have become the proud owner of an Exige V6 S, with the Race and Premium Pack! I’d been on the lookout for one for the last 6 months or so, but when I saw the classified for this, I had to go and see it. I’ve had a few MX5’s before, and also have an Integra DC5 which mainly sees the tracks nowadays, but not sure for how much longer after driving this around… looking forward to see what the future holds in the green machine!

Today I had the pleasure of meeting with forum member @ramjet. who very kindly handed over the keys to a magnificent example of an Esprit S4. Got a few smiles and thumbs up on the drive home. Thank you Michael for the way the car was presented. Immaculately clean and very shiny. I’ll do my best to keep it maintained to the high standard that it is accustomed. Rest assured, it’ll be driven and enjoyed. I can already see what a great community, and a great resource this forum is. Thanks for having me. Dean

Hello everybody. I was chasing a "nice" car. And, like everybody and his neighbour, looked at a 911. But felt bored quickly, looking at the ads, reading tech forums (what about the IMS ?, what option ?). And then, a revelation: The Evora was in the same league, very nice looking and I haven't seen any for years. Searched the net, found TLF and a lot of information. Good information. A lot of it. Found an S, tryied it (snowy december roads, so vera carefully) just to undestand how the car would fit around me. It did. Son now I am a fresh and proud owner of a grey Evora S IPS Sportracer (black seats). Still learning the car, wondering where that but…

Just a hello from South New Jersey, USA. I fell in love with the Lotus Exige S from the movie Red 2 (2013). Since then, I have always wanted one of these and you really do not see them often, which I like. So, I told myself, for my 50th birthday, I was going to get whatever car I wanted. It is between a Lotus and a 718 Cayman, for now. I have been reading and browsing the forums since I like to do my research before any type of commitment.
