Hi all, i've been saving for 20 years for an Esprit Turbo... I'm getting tired of driving my 1991 Dodge Ferrari (Shadow) and now i think it's time to finally take that plunge and get something more exotic. If anyone has any suggestions where I should start looking for one (I'll go as far as L.A. or LasVegas) then please let me know. thx, Doogie (Larry)

Hello everyone! My name is Francesco, I am an italian software engineer and proud owner of a 1994 Calypso Red S4, italian version (2.0L). After spending the last two years in Toronto, Canada, soon (in two weeks) I will relocate to Tokyo, quite the move huh? I decided to bring the S4 with me, the price is high, but I think it is worth paying I have been watching the LEW website for a long, long time and now I finally decided to join this excellent forum! Thank you all for keeping this up! Francesco aka Jollyroger

When i saw the S4 coming into the services my heart just exploded as i remember having a pic on the wall of an older esprit ,I never actually seen one for real , I did the deal with out even taking it for a test drive CRAZY !!. I drove her back 300 miles without any problems and with a BIG smile on my face !! What a car. Full service hi…

dear lotus folks, a big hello from canada! ive had my silver 2001 V8 SE since nov 04 and im really crazy about it. the mountains of bc make for amazing driving and theres a few nice tracks nearby too. what an amazing car. i never knew a car could feel this way: so responsive, powerful. my heart and adrenal glands have really had a good workout since owning this beast! (and my bank account too!) it was quite the revelation for me to realize how much it could do and of course im still learning... i try to get as much track time as i can. there are some great instructors here - molson indy racers, etc - and they've taught me alot already... i just got 4 …

Hi there! I'm in the planning stage of an Esprit S1 conversion utilizing an LS1 V8 and most likely a Porsche/Getrag G50. I'll be completely revamping the suspension with tubular adjustable control arms and Moton remote-reservoir coil-over units as well, and upgrading the brakes with most likely 2-piece rotors and 4 or 6 piston calipers. The engine will be converted to Individual Throttle Body injection and all the valvetrain will be upgraded for higher RPMs. There is a link in my signature for the build-up webpage, but right now it's all in the planning process. I am looking for the "right" S1 for this project, so if you know of one in need of …

Hello Everybody Just thought I'd say hello and introduce myself - My name is Matt and I have been waiting 28 years for an Esprit and finally become an owner of an Stevens shape 1988 Turbo (carbed) last week . It has just under 36K miles and has been lovingly looked after by its previous owners and will continue to be cossetted all the time I own it. (although it still has the red clutch hose which I intend to replace) I will be at Donnington on Sunday - but unfortunately not in the Esprit as my Wife and 6 year old son wanted to attend - (should have bought a excel instead !!) Hope to see some of you at other forthcoming meets Cheers Matt

I currently own a Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V, though I have always loved lotus cars and their dedication to light weight. I used to have a lotus T-Shirt a long time ago and I was wondering if anyone knew where a reliable place to buy one from might be. Does Lotus themselves sell them or would I have to go through some other seller? Any feedback is appreciated thanks

Hello everyone. I have just signed up so please be patient with me. I suffer from the Bond effect as most esprit owners do (so i read). I have read so much info about all the cars and just love it to bits. I suffer from a big problem. I stand best part of 6 feet four inches.Yes you have guessed it I dont fit properly. I test drove a 2002 v8 about a year ago and i was just to big The steering wheel was to low and the center consul badly hit my left leg and knee.I had to put my left foot under the clutch pedal when not in use . I did have enough head room and got in and out easily enough. The basic problem was the seat just did not go back far enough.I suppose Colin C…

Hi I'm a new owner of an S4 and I am quite quickly discovering that things can go wrong and spares can be hard to come by. I want to find a reliable and honest(if there is such a thing) mechanic to take care of my baby...preferably in hertfordshire So is there anybody out there?

Hi folks, I've pretty much talked myself into starting the process of researching one of these fine cars to purchase. Based on preliminary reading, I'm looking for an 89-91 SE. I like the "G" and the "S" cars both but the edge goes to the newer cars as just a personal preference. Plus, I like the idea of 300HP and fuel injection. Add to this the relative affordability of these years. I expect to take a good long time to find the car I want and I'm not jumping to any quick decisions. I also plan on asking plenty of stupid questions on the way. Another thing that will take quite a bit of time is that I have to sell no less than 7 other vehicles plus still …

Newbie here with a few questions - I'm about to purchase an Esprit and want to do my homework first. I've been reading the UK sites and such, but have some specific queries the sites don't directly answer, so I'm hoping some owners can help me out I'll place the questions in what I hope are the appropriate sections.

Greetings all, I recently purchased a pristine s2 after wanting, wishing, hoping for one most of my life (I'm 36...so you do the math). It all started with a little white Hot Wheel...a life long addiction. Now, after many years of being a bit a by-stander - I'm in the thick of it. And loving it. I've always considered my self book smart about the Esprit and I relish the chance to put it all to practical use. And this forum will help. The smiling guy in corner, Timothy

Just picked up my S4 from a certain well known from LEW and it has to be said it was well worth the wait. You know it s not just yourself that gets enjoys driving it but others that get a buzz from seeing it too. Had 5 people compliment the car including a neighbour who skipped a few minutes of the England match to come and make sure I parked without scratching it, a petrol station cutostomer who wanted to help me fill up and an enthusiastic astra driver (sandbach M6, you know who you are) who was smiling, waving, thumbs-upping and mouthing "great car mate!". Just fulfilled the "impossible dream". And chuffed to bloody bits! Now...how do i get an owners pa…

Hi Lotus Bros out there, Somehow I feel that we are just like the Americian drama serie "4400" aliens abductees just that we are 10000k+ population strong based on Esprit owners. No offences i.e we behaved weird like aliens but because we are the "few who know the difference" Here in Singapore, I belong to an exclusive group of "Only" lotus owners despite the rarity image projected. There are only about at most 10 Esprit owners I have befriended here & mostly are the GG owners. Nevertheless, we had a common bonding or vision, once u own an Esprit, the mass produced Ferraris, Poshs & Lambos that u ahave always seen in discos are just like a poin…

Just wanted to introduce myself. I joined up last night having decided to purchase an S3 Turbo in a rash moment of retail therapy having found myself single again I live in Lotus county (farming), not too far from Hethel and have many friends who either do or have worked for Lotus, so where better to live if you're contemplating a renovation project. I quizzed one of them last night about retrimming the Esprit, only to find out he was one of two people who went over to Guigiaro's studio back in the 70's to design the interior fitment I have owned a normally aspirated S3 in the past but sold it when times were harder and I had a Finnish girlfriend (whic…

The Lurker is now a owner! After Months and months of months of looking and years and years and years of dreaming, it finally became reality. I now own a 2001 Cobalt Blue Esprit- that is pretending to be a 2002! I found the car online at Dupont registry. Seller was in Rhode Isand. Me in Vegas. Negotiated a good deal , had it checked out by mike at Michaelsmotorsports, had a fun shipping experiance(doesnt everyone) and presto: my new baby is here. Has Johans ECU and 2002 oz wheels . However the tires seem 1 size to big. they are 235/45/17 in front and 295/35/18 in rear. Probably rears are ok , but I think front will have to be changed. Currently getting Lotus USA to rese…

Hi all, im Mike im 24 and im from Manchester. I dont have an esprit at the moment. I certainly plan to one day. I remember being very young and my dad had taken me to Barton Air Field, near the trafford centre. I recall a black esprit turbo (G Shape), I remember the angular shape, the lattice spit rims. It was nothing like I had seen before. There plenty of other high perfomance cars that have been my favourite but ive always come back to the esprit. Ive had 2 Ford capris, 1 skoda octavia rs (which was written off by chav joyriders in a head on collision) and now I have a suzuki ignis sport. The problem is because I have always been insured in my mums nam…
