Most of us will know the affection Nigel had for ACBC but this was a great interview to see with Jodie Kidd. Nigel really considered him a Father-figure -

Well today has been a significant day in my life of involvement with Lotus cars as a long time hobby. As many of you know, over the years I have found a fair few car's in odd locations across the UK and taken them back from, in many cases the brink of the grim reaper, the crusher. So today after an unrepeatable offer from a fellow enthusiast, I am about to launch a new venture which will of course be Lotus. Now you may think, what next, well we all have heard the stories of a car tucked away in a shed, a barn, a garage, a garden, in fact over the past few year's I have rescued many which have turned out to be bloody good car's and most had been left due to loss …

Hey all After some solid advice from the forum, I bought my first Lotus (Exige 410 20th anniversary edition) about a month ago. Absolutely love the car and driving experience and just wanted to say thanks to the forum for the friendly advice. Very different experience to other brand forums I've been on! Stay well all and happy driving!

I am reserching photos of Bedford CF "Lotus Cars" vans that were used in Hethel factory As you can see in the photos they used single and double wheel rear axles In fact one of them was used as a"test mule" for the Vauxhall engine used leter in the Lotus 62 The vans were yellow with green lettering Above is an interesting link about them https://bedfordcf2van.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html?fbclid=IwAR2AJPJzci8JupxK6278EajBF8UjrrVImTcslOMDUFLqQ1ezRjoAF6n_cCw

If you've just ordered yourself a new Range Rover Of course the government could try locking up these criminals for a reasonable length of time to keep them off the streets but that would mean having to build more prisons. Easier to let motorists pay through the nose.

is coming to an end. Car passed its roadworthy today without an issue. So in a weeks time, the car goes to the new owner who lives up near the mountain roads and should have an absolute blast in it. I am nowhere as sad as I thought I might be. 😢 Probably have just gotten used to the fact that it is more car than I can push anymore. I will promote TLF to the new owner. It will then be up to him as to whether he joins up or not. Liz and I are going to use one night during the week to go and take some photos down at the Geelong foreshore. There are some nice things to have as backdrops, so hopefully that will work out well. we are now going to work out an…

Right so to start 2021 on a bit more of a positive note - I’ve cleared a spitfire out the way and sadly sold the Evora. What I really really fancy is a noble - but there isn’t anything tempting at the right money currently. So I’ve done a deal on something else instead to keep me amused. Garage cleared today to make space - I’m hoping to collect it next week. Work wise I’m busy on another hen shed - so it might take some time to get my teeth into this one. Needless to say - I’ve had to clear some shelf space for the boxes and boxes of parts. Roll on collection.

Hi All, Does anyone have a recommended shipper, other than DHL/UPS/FedEx, to get two pallets/boxes of a finished interior door-to-door from the UK to USA? Thanks, Matt

Does anyone know of reasonable car hire for Rome in August. Seems to be a total piss take. £1200 for 2 weeks! without decent insurance. Or am I just out of touch? Personally I would prefer an older car so not worried about damage.

Ever wondered what exact colour Lotus has made? Trying to settle an argument which of the 1274564 different shades of orange that car was? WONDER NO MORE! Within this thread lie the very answers to all your problems. Pictures have been taken in a variety of lighting scenarios to try and give a more accurate account of which colour is which. We will be adding more as and when we get the pics, so if you guys can all post in the relevant threads, I will save them and add them here.

Just wondering if anyone also had a Ferrari and if so what. May be coming into some money and was toying with getting an F430 Spider? When your talk 80-90K for a car what is considered an acceptable low ball offer? 5k below asking? Don’t want to piss someone off………..to much but guess it’s a buyers market. I’ll be buying from a garage.

I know this is a complete false economy right now as nearly nobody is traveling. I have gone from putting £25 per day in the car to zero. Here’s my nearest today. Any guessing on how low it’ll get?

Looks like UK will be bring these combined camera / sound senescing devices into certain trial areas in country ? whilst there’s a load of cars motorbikes that have stupid exhaust or lack of I would have thought bigger priority was vehicles which belch out smoke was better use of public money ?

Probably a Lotus....but what was your favourite driving moment in 2022 and in which car? I borrowed a few interesting motors during the year but they all ended up reaffirming my preference for Lotus. My favourite is usually the last one I drove. So today, Excel. Justin

I’m wanting to apply some heat shield material to the chassis tubes on my esprit that run quite close to the exhaust manifold. There are so many different products available that I’m looking for suggestions as to what is best? Is self adhesive adequate or should it be tied on with stainless ties.

I'll start a new thread for this as I expect there will be plenty more news to come... Established in 1948, Lotus celebrates 75 years in 2023 Distinctive and striking 75th anniversary branding unveiled Global events and initiatives planned Looking back on 75 years of heritage, and looking forward as Lotus enters fourth quarter of first century In 1948 a passionate young British designer and engineer called Colin Chapman built his first car, a modified Austin 7. Work was carried out in his spare time in the lock-up garage belonging to his girlfriend Hazel’s parents, behind their house in Hornsey, London. He called his car the Mark I and ente…
