Hi guys, Please help me with this. My factory 2009 Lotus Exige Cup 260 has no central locking, just an immobilizer. Found 2 parts below from the elise parts website https://www.eliseparts.com/shop/engine-management-sensors/relays-fuses-accessories/central-door-locking-relay-a116m6048/ https://www.eliseparts.com/shop/engine-management-sensors/switches-sensors/central-locking-actuator-b116m6039f/ Is there anyone that have done this before to install the central locking? Once it's installed, how can I pair with my key fob below? Any help will be much appreciated. …

Hi everyone, after years of waiting, I can finally afford a little Lotus Elise. I'm interested in a 2007 1.8i S 136hp which costs 24000€ (RHD). Never been on the track. What worries me a bit is that it has over 100,000 km and I'm afraid of having to make major repairs... In your experience, is it a good idea to buy an Elise with so many km on the odometer? Thank you very much, Chab

I just found this early 2ZZ powered S3 Elise R for sale with a sports car dealer not far from me in the East Mildands. Not many of these around as the Certificate of Provenance for my early 2ZZ S3 Elise R says there were only 36 produced for the UK market including mine which is the only canyon red one. It seems to be a special edition of the Elise R to do with the Queen guitarist and has his signature on the side. Unfortunately the hardtop doesn't appear to be included. The car look very similar to the one pictured in the MY11 Elise sales booklet. That one was white with spider wheels, black interior, black diffuser and no aircon. I'm wondering if it's the same car…

Are there any solutions for shorter drivers in an S1 Elise? My gf is 5’4” 1/2 and even with the seat at its furthest position forwards she can’t quite depress the clutch fully. A couple of cushions (one under, one behind) help, but not really enough to drive comfortably. Are there any tricks with the seat mounting or rails that wouldn’t preclude me jumping back in (at 6’2”)? Thanks!

I’ve recently spoke to someone who would love to know who currently owns their old S1 Elise registration Y201 OGV (Described as midnight blue). The plate is no longer in existence unfortunately, all we know is they sold the car to a man on the Isle of Skye some years ago. any help would be much appreciated!

Hi all I seem to have recently found myself looking at more Elise's for sale than Evora's, which were the Lotus I thought I wanted to buy. So I find myself wondering about buying or building something as a weekend fast road toy and have always loved the look of the S2's but don't know much about them. One type of Elise that has caught my attention is the idea of a converted K20 car. How common is this conversion and what sort of power/options can you get with a K20 conversion? Finally, are there many about and how often do these come up for sale and what sort of budget would you need for one either to buy off an owner or to build as a project? Any link…

With thanks to the power of TLF and others in the Lotus community, this Elise S1 is now in my safe(-ish) hands: A prototype but road registered on 03 January 1996 some 7 months before the first production car. It is the oldest surviving RHD Elise. The chassis has a brass plaque fitted in period by Hydro Aluminium to state is is a proto chassis. The car was built in the engineering department not the production facility. Ruby Red Metallic (B23). This Elise was used as a development vehicle to test Elise changes/improvements. It was the test bed for the 135bhp engine (which it still runs), it was the first Elise with steel brake discs when it became apparen…

On a random Ebay browse I stumbled across this Elise for sale with full Exige S1 body kit and Toyota engine conversion. I've been looking at Evora's as my possible first Lotus and have built up some good knowledge from owners on here but know absolutely nothing about S1 Elise's apart from the want factor on this car purely on the way it looks is off the chart. The ad says sold otherwise I would have gone to see the car as to my untrained eye it clearly looks like a lot of time, effort, money and love went into this car but does anyone know the car or the owner that sold? The body conversion looks great so is this fairly common on S1's? The ad also says the car had a Toyot…

Just picked up my Cup 250 FE in Daytona blue, couldn't be happier - car looks fantastic! Have only driven it on one short 30min local drive so far...but surprised by the amount of stone chips it's already picked up just in front of the rear wheel arch - both on the paint and the side-skirt rear "buttress". To be fair, the chips are tiny and if you take a step back you can't see them - but you certainly would after 6 months of driving. To compare, I previously owned a Sport 220 for 12 months (in red) and it didn't pick up a single stone chip. I expect the reason the Cups have this issue is because of the wider and stickier front rubber. It looks like the front tyre st…

Evening all, I’ve been an Evora owner previously, but managed to upgrade to a perfect 68 reg Elise 250 Cup - which is pretty much my dream car. But… I‘ve noticed a really odd hesitation at 1,800 revs (noticeable in 1st, 2nd and 3rd) - which especially in 1st can really kangaroo the car (and feels fairly dangerous at junctions). It’s repeatedly demonstrated by being in 2nd, dropping below 1,800 revs - then booting it and the hesitation occurs. No mods to the car, but just had a new sport cat IMG_0181.MOV IMG_0181.MOV which has disintegrated (under 7k miles of use). Nothing has shown up on computer readings, and the fault only …

Life circumstances meant I couldn’t justify running my Evora S, but not long after selling it I realised I couldn’t be doing without a Lotus in my life. So today collected up a gorgeous 1997 early S1, courtesy of the excellent care of @Ministrone, and drove it down from Doncaster(ish) to London. What a car! A credit to its former owner(s), and 100% the right choice after dallying with the idea of a Cobra rep. Elise better, sharper and more sensible in just about every way. I have some noob owner questions though: 1) Where can I find a replacement bag that the hood and associated bits fits in? 2) What are the best recommendations for shower caps? …

It's well known that sunshine/heat doesn't do Evora dashboards any good (leather shrinkage, airbag poppage). Any similar things to be aware of with an S1 Elise? Or does their simplicity count in their favour here? At this time of year with the sun roasting down it seems like a pertinent question!

Anyone have any recommendations for an indie who’d be happy to work on an Elise, in vague distance of NW London? C service incoming and Bell and Colvill start at £910!

Hi Guys, I'm currently the owner of an Ap1 S2000 however I've recently been bit by the Lotus bug. It's been as you would expect - Constantly checking Autotrader / Ebay / YouTube and trying to find as much Elise related content as I can! My only issue is, because of the rarity of them... I've never actually seen one in person or sat in one. I was just reaching out to see if there were any owners on here based in Newcastle Upon Tyne (Or local-ish?) that wouldn't mind showing me around their Elise and having a bit chat about the pros / cons and general livability of them. It would be purely a weekend/sunny weather car so not a daily, but before I go too far do…

Hi everybody, I'am fighting with this problem for a while now. To be simple the start button does noting. It's not like the battery is low. It juste does noting. When I spam the button, the car finaly starts. I read somewhere that there is a common proble solved replacing the button. So I did that ans that solved the problem for about a week. And now I have the same problem. I noticed that if I disconnect / reconnect the battery it solve the problem for one or two cycles. Somone can give me some hint of what to do ? It's on a Exige 240S PP Best regards Juan

Hi, simple question, what does the Sport button actually change? From what I can tell when driving it brings more throttle to the top of the pedal travel, and although maybe placebo effect seems to run a different map with a little more fuelling and hence burble and pops from exhaust. Is that about right or is there more subtle magic to it than that?
