Sadly due to MBW telling us that they can no longer host this event due to 'anti-competitive' company policy we are looking for a new location for 2019 and this year will be skipped. Apologies for those who enjoyed coming but I have looked at alternatives and finding somewhere willing to host so many cars has been a struggle. I will endeavour to negotiate a new location for next year and will make every effort to keep this a Free of Charge event if possible. Like Glastonbury, it's sometimes good to have a year off and let the grass recover!

Maybe I've missed it, but I couldn't find a date for the TLF International Lotus Day for 2017. Is it happening, and if it's at Brooklands, is the Hotel offering the excellent deals on overnight stays again?

Many thanks to @Bazza 907 for organising this once again and to Bell & Colvill for covering the trophy purchase Back by popular demand there will be a Concours d'Elegance competition open to all Lotus cars. As last year there will be a separate parking area at MBW. The Concours has proved to be very popular and so this year we have amended the categories moving away from age related to model type categories. These will be as follows · Esprit · Elise, Exige & derivatives (340R, 2-Eleven, 3-Eleven) · Evora · Elan M100 · Elite (Type 75), Eclat, Excel · Elite (Type 14), Elan, Europ…

Hello all, I've only been on the forum a week, but already it looks like a good place to be, with a decent bunch of like-minded individuals. As I'm actively looking for an Esprit at the moment, and was pretty disappointed at the condition of the one I went to see last week, I'm intending to make a bit of a detour next weekend and drop in at the big gathering at Brooklands to have a close look at multiple Esprits. I want to convince myself that the one I saw isn't necessarily representative of all. To that end, I'm hoping that owners of Esprits won't mind me minutely examining their cars, and obviously with their permission, having a good look at the interiors.…

Would anyone please be able to help out in getting all the cars parked up this year please? There's not a lot to do, and to be fair you'll be done quite soon as everyone turns up quite early. If you can be on site for 8:30-9am that would be grand and they'll be free hire of a TLF reflective vest plus dunkin' donuts for all Dunc Sparky

Not sure if this has been mentioned but the M3 between junction 2 and 3 will be closed all weekend. Could affect people going to Brooklands.

Hi Everyone, Just trying to gauge interest in organising something for a meal on Saturday night, the current suggestion is a Thai restaurant just down the road, I went last year and it was good: https://goo.gl/maps/WKWJ4FJFc7L2 http://www.hansasthaikitchen.co.uk/index.php/Hansa-s-Menu-3/ We really need a rough idea of numbers ASAP so we can get something booked, open to other restaurant suggestions so please add your names to the list and the sort of thing you are happy with and I will see what I can arrange: 1. This year Brooklands have kindly allowed us on the banking for a group photoshoot. You will need a Brooklands Museum entrance ticket and a £10 donation is to be made on the day to the Brooklands Concorde fund. This is open to full forum members, please upgrade here if required. You will need to be heading to the Vicars Bridge at 4pm so we can arrange the cars. TLF marshals will direct you and we aim to be in place for 4:30 to take the shots, finishing at 5pm. There is only room for 40 cars and we are planning to do something different than the last year. Not yet decided as I need to go to Brooklands and do some measuring and tests. Please list your na…

Back by popular demand there will be a Concours d'Elegance competition open to all Lotus cars with the highlight of MJK being one of the judges. As last year there will be a separate parking area at MBW close to the main building for the competition. There will be several categories depending on age of car and some great awards for the winners. The categories will be for cars built 1974 and earlier 1975 to 1985 1986 to 2006 2006 onwards In addition there will be a top award for "Car of the Concours" judged by MJK with a trophy presented by him to the winner, named in his honour. Following on from the success of our first event in 2014 (pics) and last year (pics ) we're doing it all again! This year we're back on the grass airstrip. It's well surfaced (planes land on it after all!) so no worries about getting your Lotus stuck! The event will be on Sunday the 8th May (hopefully we'll miss the April showers!) from 10am to 5pm. There will be a concours d'elegance with prizes again, and the chance to have your car pictured with Concorde plus a group shot on the famous banking in the afternoon. Please see separate threads for these to book your slot. Since this is within the Brooklands grounds you'll have to pay entry to t…

thoughts and ideas? I have booked the hotel as I did last year for the Friday and Saturday nights.....(before the 'offer' appeared) I know many have booked the Saturday and Sunday but I need to be back in work on the Monday so couldn't do the Sunday anyway ...... but I was wondering if anyone else was down on the Saturday (early enough)......and if so, do those who are there Saturday afternoon fancy a trip out somewhere? last year a few of us went to Worthing......lovely trip out......nice drive, then a wander round town, chips on the front and a drive back I have a feeling that if I don't do this it could be an expensive weekend as my Mrs will no…

Rules have not really changed from the photoshoot we did last year with the Concorde. As per last 2 years we've been kindly offered use of the Concorde that Sparky built at Brooklands for photos. This year to make this worthwhile there are a few criteria: Firstly, you must be a full forum member to take part. Upgrade here if required. Also you need to make a £10 donation to the Brooklands Concorde Charity and have an entrance ticket to the museum. Finally, you will need to order a photo package from our photographer, Malcolm Feth. The cost is £120 per car. In return you will receive 3 processed photos and also one of them printed in high quali…
