Hi! We are in the process of restoring a Lotus Sunbeam for the original owner and are struggling for some basic parts. In particular we need to find some door and tailgate hinges; somehow these were lost from the car when a previous restoration attempt was started and we need them to ensure that the door shuts are correct before carrying on with other shell work. Does anyone happen to know of a source for parts like this please? There will be plenty of other bits we will need and finding a reliable source for these would make life much easier! Advice would be much appreciated. Thanks for listening!

Hi Everyone MJK and a few of the "Old Guard" still left have put together an event for all Old Lotus Employees of the Lotus Remembered Club (Don't try and join unless you are an Ex Lotus Employee). There will be 400+ people there including the Chapmans and its held at Classic Lotus in Hethel. Here's your chance to not only get in but meet everyone. They have on display every single Lotus. Yes. Just saying hi to introduce myself to the TLF community as I only joined recently. Here's my (long story) not original Sunbeam Lotus. All the right bits, but they didn't come out of the factory together at the same time.

Hi all Has anybody replaced the rear (propshaft) oil seal on a ZF Lotus Sunbeam gearbox? Can this be done in situ? (he says hopefully...) Cheers, Mike

I may have owned the last one ever built: Around 1970 I bought RNO 713D ( I think) paid £300 for from an architect who lived on Canvey Island. He ordered one too late but his father in law was management at Dagenham and he put the order through taking an export body shell. had it 12 months sold for £360...!! where is it now I wonder? As per the title, does anyone know if lotus cortina wheels need inner tubes? Friend of mine has a set for his angling and they do not seem to have a bead.

Anyone else picked up on this car advertised on eBay. It's a Carlton but claimed to be silver from birth. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:X:RTQ:GB:1123 The current owner states that it was ordered in Silver by the "CEO of Lucas UK" from the factory, but it just looks dodgy to me. However I mailed the seller asking for the chassis no, thinking he'll ignore me, and to my surprise he replied with.... SCC000019M1163219 VIN M50240 ENGINE Chassis build plate in photo is 236G I thought all the Carltons were Imperial Green. If it's true this looks like a rare beast. Anyone any ideas?

My uncle, John Rutherford, was the key marketing guy at Vauxhall responsible for the interface between GM and Hethel when the Lotus Carlton was being developed, apparently he is mentioned in the glossy book. He turns 80 on the 3rd April 2020, so I wondered whether I might surprise him by having a Lotus Carlton arrive on his driveway and take him for a short drive. He mentions the project occasionally when I see him, with anecdotes of conducting high speed laps at Millbrook Proving Ground, not far from his home near Junction 12 of the M1. If anyone is up for this, I will check with Uncle John's wife and sons that they can keep him home at the chosen time. …
