Greetings fellow TLF members, Since 2018 when I first purchased my second Lotus (the first one was an Elise first intro to TLF), it has been pure joy and pride taking her to the tracks and winding roads. Sadly, two years ago she had a "fender bender" accident, which she had been sitting in the garage. Until now this "recreation project" is finally started, hopefully to bringing her back to a new life, and some. To begin The Exige starts off is a Roadster S, which she had a very very soft stock Bilstein suspension. On tracks, every brake, it was a pretty bad nose dive, and the front couldn't hold any grip, which always ended up very b…

Following the trend, thought it would be easier to post pictures of the car here, along with all the bespoke bits. Should be 1 of 1 for now! Next to its "little cousin"

So last week me and the Exige V6 (aka Magpie) passed our three year anniversary. I’ve been lucky enough to own the car since new and we’ve both been on a journey, for some reason, I felt slightly compelled to share some of that journey. In particular the upgrades I’ve made so I can share my feedback as I’ve looked to improve upon the base car over the time of my ownership. Maybe its because of the 10 odd pages of debate clogging up my TLF notifications on the new Exige 380 Cup that I thought it would be nice to change the subject of the day. I hope my journey is of interest and ill look to update this thread over time. To set the scene, I’ve owned an M3, an M3 …

Got my car today, trying to think of a good or funny name... Mrs noticed the plaque " built by Carl Knights" so, the car is called Carl now First planned mod is to change the steering wheel - All alcantara hopefully by D class as per @GFWilliams's recommendations *( I saved your interior as inspiration for what I want to achieve ) This won't happen for a while, maybe a birthday surprise from the Mrs and family, or I'll do it near Xmas. Going to pop up there after the B&C open day as its quite close and have a chat. This is going to be a slow burner thread I'm afraid, funds are limited now the beast is here but by god my face hurts from lau…

Hello chaps, Bought this Exige V6 from Jamie today, absolutely love it so far! I'm sure there will be many many photos of it out and about as I'm a photographer and will be daily driving it for a while... In fact I'll get more photos up later today I reckon! Best George

Hi! I recently purchased a 2019 Exige 410 Sport, to which I plan to do some mild upgrades. Some of it will be custom work, so perhaps interesting also for others to see it documented. I'm sure the audio can be made really nice in these cars, however I didn't want to add any more weight and components, so out came the horrible Clarion head unit and the front speakers. The radio will be replaced with the Porsche tray (9965522530101C) and while I could put back the original grills, I decided to make some cover plates instead. Next it needs some bead blasting to make it matte and some black anodising. I think I'll …

Hello everyone, After lurking here for several years I thought it might be of interest to start my own build/upgrade thread. First, some backstory to the car. Back in 2017-2018, I used to own an Opel Speedster Turbo (LHD version of VX220 Turbo). A fabulous car in many respects, and a good way to get acquainted with the Elige platform. It was mildly upgraded with ca. 230-250 hp, making it more than swift enough for my needs. Being a Nordschleife nut, I had to take it there and try some laps. I had done so many times with other cars, both FWD, RWD, AWD and mid-engined. I had also tracked the Speedster several times and felt that I knew the limits of the car a…

Took delivery of my Cup today and very quickly broke the engine cover release lever, so all my luggage remains locked away. I know it’s been covered before but it really is a pretty weak design. Looks like a trip back to the dealer !!! Main point really was to establish a thread for the foibles on a new Lotus. I had air bag delete which included the harness brace, but it would appear the plastic cover behind seats gets removed showing all manner of Cables. I was assured this was normal but would appreciate views on this. Looks a bit naff really but maybe it is the only solution Also Really would have liked the switchable exhaust button, as on my 380 an…

So I thought I'd do a bit of a build thread now that I am coming up to the first year with the car. That and I've got some time on my hands waiting in Frankfurt airport, so I though I'd bring together some of the little bits I have been doing… Previous to the 350 I've had a reasonable handful of Lotus's, S1's and S2's Elise/Exige with a K20 lump in an Elise and a komotec tweaked S2 Exige S, so though I had done my time in them. But for some reason decided I want to get back into the fold. After looking around for several weeks, I decided to order what I wanted. I know financially not the most sensible decision, but I thought I would get what I want as each previous t…

After posting in the 'Introductions' section, I thought I'd keep a diary of my car and any upgrades I do in this section. It's a 2019 Exige 410 Sport. Cyan Blue, with the interior colour coded pieces in yellow. It's got the Carbon Fibre seats, Carbon Roof and Lithium Battery. Collection day was long but exciting. When I arrived here, I'd never even seen a 410 sport in real life before, never mind seen or driven the car I'd actually just bought... The sales woman went to grab the car from where it was tucked away, and when she brought it round for me, even my mask was barely able to hide my smile... 0 I then had a fairly long and…

Hi everyone! I bought my red Exige 350 Sport in Feb 2017 having traded up from a VX220 Turbo that I had (and loved) for about 4 years previously. Some pictures of the Lotus attached. It's far from hopeless, unlike it's owner! Currently my Exige is completely standard but I have a serious tinkering itch that needs scratching since I do love a project. The first thing I am hoping to sort (with some help from the warranty) is the clutch. It makes a rough rattling noise like an old diesel at idle/crawling speed, which I have been told is not normal and is not the cables. The car is going to Hanger 111 next month and the plan is to replace the clutch with a bigger un…

Well I've had the car 6 months, Probably about time to do a project thread! Its a 20th edition 410 sport in military grey so it has a lot of the options already included. I don't have any decent photos of my own so I'll just jump straight in with some photos on the track whilst I was out testing: I'm 6ft 3 and being honest I don't really fit in it properly, The first several times I drove it I had a stiff neck for days after because I was subconsciously stooping my head to see out the windscreen. The car wasn't going to last long if I kept injuring myself every time I drove it so I had to find someway of fitting in it better. From readin…

We all know Lotus cars are built in Hethel, but from my experience over the past few days they are properly finished in Mendig. So Sunday saw me drive the not incomsiderable distance to Germany via the Chunnel as I was advised to be there by 8:00am. I duly arrived about 30 minutes late on Monday, as I really did need to give the car a clean. As perhaps you know most places, including car washes are closed on Sunday. First person I met was Marcus, who showed me around the workshops, dyno and show rooms. To be fair, I was really impressed, everything I looked at was impecably clean, well organised organised and all the bits and pieces for my upgrade were already laid o…

Hi Ya'll, so after having an Elise 2002, later an Elise 2006 R111 I now made the step to the Exige V6. That's a difference! 😎 Having done some tweaks, mainly with some parts of Alias23, Eltech and my friends at Lotus vd Kooi Netherlands I took some pictures today to share. Remarks & suggestions are always welcome, next upgrade is Alias his new intake which if all goes well sits in the car in August?!

Hello all, thought I would start a little project thread/ photo dump for those who are interested! I picked up the car 3 weeks ago and have just covered 500 miles. In love and if i could afford to drive it daily i would! I have a few plans, nothing major. 1. New mirrors, I find it some what comical how good the car looks and how little time they spent on the mirrors! 2.Side intakes, fancy some carbon ones as I feel like everything else is carbon apart from these. 3. Potentially some different wheels, this will be a long way if at all. https://esrwheels.com/products/new-gp5 That's all for now, sure il find something else to buy. As soon a…

Just drove my Exige 380 Cup back from Mendig to Scotland, as just had Komo-tec carry out the IDS conversion, along with their 460 upgrade and AIM dash. Really transforms the car as you can imagine. They did a great job, all within roughly 3 weeks. Have a track day at Knockhill next week so keen to see how it performs. I was already impressed with the car, but the manual gearbox was def not great when warm, so decided to go all in on making it track focused. It's certainly pretty loud, I guess the race cats must contribute to that. No problems on the trip back from Germany, car handled it easily in auto mode most of the way, but Race Mode + Paddles and it's a bit…

Hi, It's Exige Cup 430 Final Edition. Got it in the December 2021. Color is called "Exige Orange". I am not 100% sure about the color name, because this name is mentioned quite rarely. Can't find the picture with this color at all. I know that there are Burnt Orange (quite often) and Metallic Orange, but I guess those are not the same. Love the car, the way it drives and the way it sounds. Steering feedback is just awesome. Exige owners will understand, but to the others; closest thing to compare regarding the steering feedback and vehicle dynamics is race kart, but way more planted. It's not a problem to drive unassisted (no servo) wheel, not a problem to park …

Hello guys, first post for me after reading so many topics in this forum. So first of all, sorry for my bad English. I´ll do my very best My little upgrade story started in November 2014 when I finally got my Ardent red Exige V6 from Lotus Munic. Spec included aircon, red stitching, rear parking sensors and softtop etc. I really loved the colour and still do. It was a real step up from my previous car (Z4m Roadster) and I´ve driven it for some years without changing anything but the suspension setup. I did some trackdays and was a bit disappointed by the understeer compared to other cars i drove, whereas the overall performance of the…

Hi folks. Introducing myself as I have just paid a deposit on a 350. Hopefully collecting in the coming weeks. It’s Voodoo Blue, which I believe is a Porsche colour. Not sure if there are other 350’s out there in the same colour? It also have a lovely spec… Alcantara, Cruise, A/C, carpets, blue colour pack, stereo amp, carbon sills, carbon access panel, carbon seats, aim dash, ORE cup holder, plus Alias sills and induction kit still in their boxes. Very excited to be back in a Lotus!

Thinking of getting satin black vinyl around the front intake grills like on a 380 but not sure if it will go well with the colour... It's partly for looks and partly for protection 😀 Any opinions welcome! 43749

Hello all, I would like to introduce my new to me my 2013 Exige S in Chrome orange. I am not new to Lotus this been my 5th car, first was a 2001 Elise Racetech, a 2004 111R that got made into a Elise SC and a 2007 Europa S which kicked out over 330Hp and my last Lotus was a 2010 Exige 240pp/260, also my Dad has a 1973 Elan plus 2 130/5 which we restored in 1991/93. So why go for a V6 ? I have loved every Lotus owned but felt although different vehicles they are all pretty similar and the V6 itch just had to be scratched. Each one of my Lotuses i have pretty much fully rebuilt them, as well as constantly working on friends Lotus or VX220 but this is my first experience w…

Quite a few people have messaged me over the years asking about the different mods I have done to the car so thought it was time for a build thread. A little background first. I had 2008 Cayman S Sport which I loved however the horror stories of the IMS issues and other oil related issues scared me from tracking it much. The plan was to find something that both my dad and I could track regularly but still drive to and from tracks without having to worry about trailers etc. This led us to B&C and to Jamie who helped us into our first Lotus, a 350 Sport in Essex Blue. We collected her in June 2016 and haven’t looked back. IMG_4728.HEIC Brakes After our fi…

Hi all, after 10 years out of Exige ownership I'm glad to be back. My last car was a 2007 Exige S which was used by a firm called MMG to develop their prototype chargecooler and other upgrades. I sold that after running it at 340bhp and enjoyed every minute of ownership including the fun and games that is tuning. Had a few toys since including a mad Zenos and C63 Black but ultimately I always new I'd be back in an Exige. As per the heading I've purchased the grey 2017 380 Sport thats been advertised by Sytners in Warwick. It made me laugh that when they 1st ran their advert they didn't even know it had been fitted with the TVS1900 and intake kit from SSC as well as …

Hi everyone I have just received my new Exige. I thought i would do a thread on here as readers cars is one of my favourite sections. I had a Cayman GT4 last year nice car but it just wasnt for me. So i sold it and decided i would go for a second hand Exige 410. Things got out of hand again like in the previous GT4 topic haha. A nice couple came and looked at my GT4 on the Tuesday and arrived in a rather nice yellow Cayman They agreed to buy and left a deposit. I later moved the car in the garage and it threw up a warning light. I was gutted and a bit stressed as you can imagine. One phone call to Porsche Wolverhampton explaining i had sold the car but a w…
