I've posted a few different threads on here to do with mods to my Evora , but based on @Daveb99 and @EvoraBob threads I've decided to pull my "build" / life log thread over from NORLOG So the car , a 2009 Launch Edition N/A Evora 2+2 in Aspen White , first registered 05/08/2009. As an LE it’s got the Tech Pack, Sport Pack and the Premium Pack - which translates according to the brochure of the time as: And as I found out after buying it the Lotus Stage 1 Exhaust and 3rd Cat delete has been fitted , probably at the delivering dealers (Silverstone). On top of this prior to me getting it there are a raft of bills and history including having the Ge…

Every time I get a new toy I always go through it with fine tooth combe and and carry out any projects required as I am very fussy and enjoy working on the cars as well driving them. I have had the Evora just over 3 weeks and carried out a few small improvements and changes as the major projects will be done during the winter months when the car will be parked up in the garage. Items done to date Replaced the interior and the boot light bulbs with 6 led. With having a short front number plate, removed the black plate mount and repainted it the same colour as the car colour. Removed the wheels and cleaned up and painted the brake disc centres. Adju…

.. quite satisfying to start the first thread here 😃 I want to start sharing two pictures of what the car looks like today, a picture of my latest modification and then present a) Why I bought an Evora S 2+2 b) Who I am c) Why I start this thread. The very latest thing done, is actually to re-fit the rear clam badges yesterday evening, after re-painting some details, but I wouldn't say that it count as a modification. Instead it must be the adjustable drop links from "Hardrace" to the rear anti roll bar. I will come back to the specs later, as well as to the other modification that could be seen in the same picture.

I have now had my MY11 Evora S for nearly a year and we all know what wonderful cars they are. I have done a few, minor interior mods (steering wheel, gear knob & gator) to help match the interior to the SR exterior. However, it's now time to do some more significant mods in order to get the V6 breathing more easily. My long term intention is to update the airflow, all the way from the intake, through the manifolds, cats and then out of the backbox/silencer. I intend to try and run a powercheck before each section is added, in order to serve as some sort of reference to which mods actually help with the power delivery and which are more, er, 'cosmetic'. So, with …

Hello my fellow brothers and sisters. I wanted to share with you my story and all my work that I have done to my Lotus Evora 400. I have always been dreaming of owning one since I was little kid like even when I pay car video games, I always choose Lotus cars to race with. Recently in 2020, I spotted my eyes on a clean Evora 400 almost factory state and the former owner didn't drive it much since he bought it in 2016 it only have been driven 10,000 KM. You can even smell the leather seats fresh. Luckily for me, I had some money saved up in the bank and so I have bought it after checking all of it with Lotus dealership that we have here and they have told go for…

Since quite some time, I was thinking to start an off-road worthy Lotus Evora project. (Check the new 911 Dakar, Lambo Sterrato or Morgan CX-T for inspiration..) Should have some 20cm ground clearance, a spare tyre rack at the end (may cut open the boot for it), All-Terrain wheels, Additional Lights, maybe a winch,... Don't know how a double-wishbone suspension could by raised to gain the ground clearance though.. But damn, that would be a cool car for doing Padagonia to Prudoe Bay... 😉

Hi all, I'm Aaron from Hastings, East Sussex....and I'm the proud new owner of Paul's Evora LE that I'm sure most will have seen advertised on TLF. I've been looking at it for quite a while, and been trying to get Paul to swap for my Elise S, but he needed the cash! To say getting the Evora was a mission is a bit of an understatement! A 1000 mile round trip in a couple of days was quite tiring...compounded by the train strikes on Saturday and literally no plane tickets at sensible prices left....so hiring a car was the best way for us (me and my wife) to collect the car. A price was agreed with Paul, and a promise to pick it up that weekend...and the …

Hi all, So... I've bought a reasonably priced Launch Edition Evora (pics attached) as big brother to my S1 Elise. However, being reasonably priced it does require a fair amount of TLC! Focusing on the mechanicals I will be changing all fluids (Engine, gearbox, coolant, clutch and brake), filters, spark plugs along with gear selector adjustment etc. But in addition to this I do have some stumbling blocks I hope I can get some direction on: - It has no rear view mirror (just the plinth). Any idea where I can get one from as I have drawn a blank with google searches? - The undertray will obviously be coming off for various bits of work, so following my appro…

So nearly 4 years in, 18.5k miles (mostly boys weekend road trips - Zolder, Spa, Nurburgring, Le Mans, Duns, Jura Mountains, Lotus Festivals etc) and £2,102 in costs (4 x services, 1 x MOT, 3 x Road fund licence, 2 sets of Rear Tyres, Sports Exhaust etc) and still absolutely loving it. Have had the usual warranty claims that others have had, the only unique one seems a random failing of the Jaguar fuel filler flap actuator. Best mpg I've had - 42mpg, worst - 17mpg. My 2 young children fit in the back and are crazy about it too, so any excuse to go out in it is met with universal approval. A few photos of the journey so far.... The obligatory…

Not a fan of silver cars but it was not a bad deal a year ago, so a bit or orange has now been added. Mirrors... Bespoke tilted edged Barge boards.... Engine cover inc light up engine at night and through vents lol. Needs some front and rear orange now. Then alot of saving for the big mods.

and I absolutely love this car! Have done just over 4000miles, but expect to do more this year, and the car has now done 45k miles. The only issues I've had over the past year were 1. lost the clutch pedal and after looking on the forum wrapped the clutch slave cylinder pipe as per a service bulletin and it seemed to have done the trick, its not happened again; and 2. the car suddenly went into limp mode, local garage diagnosed it to misfiring on cylinder 2, so replaced the spark plugs and all is now well Other work done includes repairing the glovebox, fitting a new and larger steering wheel spacer, replacing the mudflap brackets for stainless steel ones, rep…

Although I’ve been a serial Elise S1 owner (I’ve had 5 over the last 21 years) I have always admired the Evora. As the years have passed, I’ve found myself looking at them more and more (in search of more comfort and usability probably) and last year I started looking seriously. The start of the slippery slope... Having already briefly driven Phil S1's lovely Evora SR several years ago, I knew broadly what to expect, but a short drive doesn’t reveal the depth of ability that the Evora has. It's only when you’ve owned one for a good few weeks that you realise what a truly superb all-rounder it is. The way the car handles the twisty stuff is remarkable g…

So after 2 phone calls, 36 emails, lot of money and 90 miles later the car is on my drive. I picked up the car this morning. Evora S IPS MY12. Aimee at Lotus Silverstone has been fantastic throughout the process. I was bit surprised to see the car was under covers for a proper reveal. (My BMW dealer handed the keys and pointed the car is over the corner there in the forecourt and said "Happy Journey"). . I was walked through about all controls and all my "Don't forget to ask" questions were answered patiently. Definitely impressed with lotus silverstone Before I set off, the trip computer suggested a range of 345 miles and after 90 miles drive back h…
