Well, it was a sunny day with beautiful clear skies, Lotus cars in abundance and a few home cooked Samosas from a friendly Indian chap. Good to see you again Mike, nice S350. A few Forum members were a bit ragged looking which was amusing. Only disappointment was not hearing a 27 litre V12 roar overhead. Dom

PLEASE READ EVERYONE firstly i'm really grateful for the time my fellow Mod Kimbers put in getting our group bookings at wensum valley, this is not something he should feel bad about. Please. Furthermore i waited before posting as i did not want a dark cloud hanging over a joyful threads of the event, but now is time i think. Here goes: Monday morning... I showered, then Vic showered. We were both in the bedroom when we heard an almighty 'SMASH' from the bathroom, so we went to look and see what it was. The round glass globe of the light fitting had fallen off, leaving hot smashed glass all over the bathroom, obviously very scary, …

Great weekend well done mate, I'm sure you know the right people to get bits from, but if I can help you know where I am.

Hi all, Appologies if a similar thread has been started but Iam in a bit of a rush. I thought it would be useful if I started a thread whereby we posted what useful bits we are bringing with us to helps others. I plan to bring my laptop with Gendan software if anyone has any trouble with their V8. I may also have free scan knocking around but this will mean bringing another laptop. Can anyone else bring theirs? Also I'll bring my portable photo printer 6"x4" if anyone needs some photos processing? I can also do large format printing, maybe even laminated. If people want to email a pctire of their car then I will get them printed in A3 in 170gsm free of charge …

Hello All Just one question about the 40 years celebration. Does this mean production started 40 years ago i.e 1967 because the thing is 1991 Lotus made the Excel Celebration to celebrate 25 years at Hethel which doesn't add up. So was the Excel wrong, or should the 40th have been last year P.S not moaning about the 40th, just wondering.....I know I,m sad

Most people from the South East will be heading along the M11, can I suggest that a meet at the Birchanger service on the M11 by Bishop's Stortford at 10.30 for an 11am departure on Saturday morning? The SW guys will be passing around that time and we can 'mega-convoy' up from there? I'll be there then for coffee, see ya there http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?hl=en&...p;z=15&om=1

Hi all, My memory must be going. I came to the big day last year following Kimber's suggestion to come down further south than you would expect to do when using the A1 from Leeds (to avoid 30mph roads and speed cameras) but I cannot for the life of me remember for sure what route I took. Was the advice to go down to Huntingdon (A1) then to Cambridge (A14) and finally onto the A11 up to Norwich? I'm usually good with remembering trips but this looks to be so far out of the way that I wanted to make sure! I'm going to lie down in a dark room now. Rich

Hi all, Just started to bounce around getting all excited now that Ian May has reminded me it's the factory open day the weekend after next so thought it was time somebody shouted Convoy! Here's my suggestion based on last year's route and meet-up points - I'm assuming anyone who's travelling up is doing so on the Saturday and staying over, so I'm aiming to get us to the Wensum Valley for about 1pm to allow the golfers amongst us to tee-off at 4pm after some preparatory stretching exercises and Zen-like meditation: As before, I'm proposing M5, M4, M25, M11, A11 as the fastest route, and the timings are based on a steady 70mph with 15 mins for each st…

Dear all Once again I've sweated and toiled with our friends at Wensum Valley Golf and Country Club http://www.wensumvalleyhotel.co.uk/ We have the Hotel Block Booked as of now. With 57 rooms available on the 22nd and 53 on the 23rd you have to be quick to get a room before they all go. Please mention Lotus Esprit Forum when you book to get a room. On the Saturday 22nd I have arranged a full sit down Carvery dinner (which those who stayed an extra day last year will tell you was excellent) and we will take over the restuarant that night. At a rate of

Folks, Last year Kimbers warned us that satnavs usually take the direct route down farm tracks... and he was right, you know - I got lost on the way back from Hethel and had to rely on satnav - the track was about six inches wider than an Esprit and had grass down the middle of it The better route that he showed us (and that we used in reverse to this for the convoy to Hethel) was as follows: 1) Follow A11 towards Norwich 2) At Ring Road (A47) go left onto the A47 3) Follow a few miles until just after a place called Honingham - turn right into Wood Lane 4) Follow this road through Weston Green and Weston Longville and keep going straight on 5) You…

I'm on route home from working abroad and don't have a ticket. I'm going to turn up on the day in my GT3. I'm hoping I'll be able to pay on the door. Surely I won't get turned away? Is there a seperate entrance for Lotus cars?

Is anyone driving down on Sunday the 23rd September from the Derby area? If so are any convoys being planed? Anyone have any suggestion for the best route to Hethel from Derby area? Regards, Peter.

On our stand, we will have our cars which I have selected and can also have some other stuff. We'll be supplied with a table and chairs and can bring banners, powerpoint, extra display material and can sell merchandise. Simon, can you please PM me exactly what you're bringing so I can organise the rest (and Lotus need to know, H&S and all that) and can anyone please put forward any suggestions and ideas for what else we can have on the stand? Thanks.

Lotus has now agreed to non commercial photography (see post #36) (edited by Tentenths) Hi, I've just spoken to Lotus Cars publicity department, enquiring about video filming and photography on the open day. I have been told that no filming of any kind, commercial or non commercial is going to be allowed, and cameras will not be allowed on the premises. This can't be true? I attended the 2004 50th Team Lotus event and did loads of filming, no one stopped me then, why would no filming apply to this event, they know people will want to take photographs and film material. I'd thought any area Lotus didn't want you to film in would be out of bounds. …

Good Evening Thank you everyone who has signed up to come to this event, Tony has told me how, once again, LEF are leading the clubs in attendance and support. I have today been involved in meetings about the event and would like to let you all know that I am 100% behind this event, to such an extent that we wish to attract more people. As such we are looking at decreasing the entry fee to
