Thanks to Brexit these are hard to import now. If you have a RHD Evora phone bracket kicking about let me know. Here's what I'm after: https://www.elise-shop.com/evora-telephone-bracket-evora-evora-s-p-502881.html

Evening all, I’ve been an Evora owner previously, but managed to upgrade to a perfect 68 reg Elise 250 Cup - which is pretty much my dream car. But… I‘ve noticed a really odd hesitation at 1,800 revs (noticeable in 1st, 2nd and 3rd) - which especially in 1st can really kangaroo the car (and feels fairly dangerous at junctions). It’s repeatedly demonstrated by being in 2nd, dropping below 1,800 revs - then booting it and the hesitation occurs. No mods to the car, but just had a new sport cat IMG_0181.MOV IMG_0181.MOV which has disintegrated (under 7k miles of use). Nothing has shown up on computer readings, and the fault only …

I have recently bought a 250cup with a lightweight lithium battery and I store my car in a garage with now power I need to weigh up my options for this problem Easiest option is to use a solar powered charger but I am unsure if it will work on a lithium battery?

I have a problem with the front screen demisting and the heating of the cabin. There is no way I can get an airflow out of the 2 screen demist ventilation openings nor can I heat the cabin. So far I have checked the following: vacuum hoses and assorted rubber reducers/elbows were replaced years ago by silicone vacuum tubing. recirclation / fresh air flap is working. The 2 control knobs with the 2 bowden cables are working. (when I turn them the inner parts of the cables move) various linkages as far as i can see (took the centre console out) are also working. I can see that the vacuum valve is being operated by the cam Coola…

Life circumstances meant I couldn’t justify running my Evora S, but not long after selling it I realised I couldn’t be doing without a Lotus in my life. So today collected up a gorgeous 1997 early S1, courtesy of the excellent care of @Ministrone, and drove it down from Doncaster(ish) to London. What a car! A credit to its former owner(s), and 100% the right choice after dallying with the idea of a Cobra rep. Elise better, sharper and more sensible in just about every way. I have some noob owner questions though: 1) Where can I find a replacement bag that the hood and associated bits fits in? 2) What are the best recommendations for shower caps? …

Hi all, I see that SJ-sportscars sells "original" rubber bushes or the two piece polyurethane bushes for the anti-roll-bar to lower link. There is also a choice for rubber or polyurethane bushes for anti-roll-bar to chassis. Any comments or preferences or experience on the choise to make here? Thanks geert

Hello Everyone, In true "New, old car" fashion I have just managed to get my 1990 SE running properly and it would appear that the rear crank oil seal is leaking. I changed the engine oil, drove about 50 miles and was about to change the gearbox oil and found a small puddle of engine oil on the floor below the little gap between the bell housing and the engine, its definitely engine oil. As I am going to have to remove the gearbox, I may as well do the clutch as well, and might put in a lightened flywheel. can I ask what parts I will need and is there anything else I can replace as a preventative maintenance measure? I am still waiting for a cop…

Anyone fitted PNMs HVAC knobs? I'm having difficulty with the two larger ones. There is a compressible locator on the shaft and I can't see how you get the new knob over it as it has no suitable cut out and you can't get behind the locator to compress it and slide the knob on at the same time. 🤔 ( yeah, I know, my post reads like a exerpt from a Carry On film 😆)

On my “to do” list is the bulkhead clonk. I removed the drivers side bulkhead carpet and was surprised to see a letter box cut out in the sound deadening. What I wasn’t expecting was what I found underneath (ref photos). It doesn’t look as if the plate with six self tappers holding it to the bulkhead was ever installed. I’m not sure if what I have is a blessing or a curse. If I can just tighten it up then fine.

Thought I'd start a thread on this as we all love a bit of attention ... I was driving through a Berskhire village last week and stopped outside a school to make a call. As I was waiting for the call to connect I noticed a guy walk out from the pavement on my left, quite close to the front of my car. TBH he looked a bit shifty. He then walked up to my window and sort of hung about in the road. I wound the window down and he said 'Excuse me, can I take a picture of your car please?'. 'Err, ok' I said and sat slightly embarrassed on the phone whilst he took a load of pics. About 30 seconds later 'half' the local school came out and I had about 20 't…

HI, Now I'm very happy! I have a full month to dedicate at my Esprit, so yesterday I was working until two o'clock in the night. Some little problem, like the rear quarted window (no fixing bolts but Solbit all over...) but everything goes well. I have bought a new digital camera so I can put better pics in the next. Just a question: I have found the capping rail finisher fixed with sealant and rivets (see photo), it's correct? I've not found this on the workshop manual. (sealant only) Anyway, I will better explain my progress in the next days. Cheers

Apologies, this is a long post and I should issue a trigger warning for those who cannot see beyond a Lotus badge... Today is the fourth happiest day of my Emira ownership. Following multiple delays and many promises that it'll be with you "soon", I was happy when it finally turned up on Jan 5th. Once fully PPF'd and ceramic coated, the second time I was happy was when I collected it, and that's when things started to go downhill... Tracker not working - Fixed following a home visit by a Scorpion field engineer Clicking/tapping noise from the dash and engine bay Mechanical noise on full lock Bubbled finish …

It's well known that sunshine/heat doesn't do Evora dashboards any good (leather shrinkage, airbag poppage). Any similar things to be aware of with an S1 Elise? Or does their simplicity count in their favour here? At this time of year with the sun roasting down it seems like a pertinent question!

Hello all, I would like to ask if someone can explain me if the Sport300 primary and secondary injectors are the same as on a SE? Or did it run with bigger primary or secondary injectors, or maybe even both? And are there any risks in running an SE engine with the SE injectors, if it have the fuelpump, fuelpressure regulator, the turbo and the EMC from a genuine Sport300? Kind regards, Jacques.

Hi, does anyone know roughly what PSI the fuel pump should produce on an 89 carb turbo? I'm just tested mine and the pressure (on ignition before cranking) just before the fuel pressure regulator is 27 PSI which to me seems a lot for a carburettor car? Just checked and it's a Lucas 4FP

1. You Only Live Once Way back in 2011 I spotted a Lotus Esprit S1 on the US Bring A Trailer website and was interested in its newly restored condition, and surprised by the cacophony of a ‘Jock Bond’ interior which I’d never seen before. A further quick search on the web brought up another chap in the US who had restored his gleaming S1 to a fine level of finish. I was impressed. However, since I’d not long completed the restoration of my S unbeam Alpine Series II and my business was just about recovering from the effects of the recession I was not in the mood to buy and dive into another restoration. It was just a car that I’d long admired since a Jul…

Hi all - I have a 2016 Evora 400 in the UK, and need to get the A/C refilled. I've used a mobile service in the past, so thought I would again or a local place, but I am struggling to find out if my car uses R134A or R1234YF. The service notes say to look at the Technical Service Bulletin 2016/21 Issue 2 for details for each market, but I can't find that TSB. Does anyone know what my car would be running on? Normally there would be a sticker/plate somewhere on the car, but not sure where that is either Cheers!
