Have a pair of the awesome looking Hell Slo mirrors off the car and ready for their new owner. These have been on the car for very few miles and so are in perfect condition, I’m putting the car back to the original fittings so will shortly have a few other carbon goodies for sale too. Prefer collection if possible OR I’ll be at Lotus in the Peak at the end of this month OR can post at cost. Usually post on the other Lotus forum so if you want references etc, feel free to check on there (same username). £750 if collected

I see there's going to be a (belated) further attempt to see if the Bulldog could get over 200mph. Not bad for the 1970's https://drivetribe.com/p/mad-scientists-attempt-to-hit-200-Bxm7Z4dTSr29aCraj2SQPA?iid=Tq_nU62tT8-UcxT3moVrtA

The new Renault Austral E-Tech Hybrid has a trim levels called...... "iconic esprit Alpine" and "techno esprit Alpine". https://www.renault.co.uk/hybrid-cars/austral/prices-offers.html?gradeCode=ENS_MDL2P1SERIELIM3 I always wondered why car companies are allowed to use Lotus names as trim levels. In the past I think Mercedes used Elan and Vauxhall used Elite.

Well 505H is now in my possession. I have been pulling it apart to see what I need to do to get it back on the road. I have removed the bonnet, light pods, tailgate, 1/4 windows, rear lights, bumpers, side trims and I'm about to remove the front windscreen......if I can get the damn wiper arm off 🙂 Does the main part of the arm just slide off the splines? I can't get it to budge. The car has had a paint job in the past, it's in pretty poor condition body wise so I've booked it in with my Painter for the end of December. Luckily the chassis is rust free. The interior is horrible, it's been recovered in vinyl at some stage in its life, nothing that can' be …

Hello Lotuscommunity, A member of this community recommended this expert forum to me. my name is Alex from Germany / Bavaria and I have been driving an Elise 111 R with Bemani KIT since 2007. NOW I NEED YOUR PROFFESIONAL ELISE 111 R KNOWLEDGE AND SUPPORT I have a bet going with another Elise 111 R driver in a Lotus forum in Germany. The loser has to donate 40€ to a children's organisation. The bet is as follows... "Find an Elise 111R that was registered before 01.12.2003 or mby December 2003." It has to be a real existing Elise with an owner and a recent photo with details. The production date is not rel…

I've been looking at how to wire up the 3rd brake light I'll be mounting to my Basic Instinct Esprit V8 project and came accross this gem of ingenuity in the Esprit User Notes which rolled my toe nails as an electrical engineer: While using a hinge as a ground strap might considered a reasonable solution to a wiring challenge, using the second hinge for the positive wire to the heated rear screen is where it starts to become sketchy. It might even work (sometimes), at least until a short circuit welds the hinge and thus the rear hatch shut. However, using the gas strut as a power line is where it really gets creative. I've never even seen a specification …

One of the small C clamps on the driver's side roof latch has broken. Can this (or the entire latch assembly) be sourced?

Hi guys - your advice and thoughts will be greatly appreciated, I’m either about to make one of the most exciting decisions of my life, or maybe not! A bit of history first, I’ve been lucky enough to own some fantastic cars, including a BMW E30 M3, Audi RS2, 993 turbo bodied 2S, Evo XI 450 bhp etc. Currently I share an E92 M3 with a good friend which has been brilliant but is too heavy & really requires a suspension upgrade to unleash its full potential. Our priorities are fun, reliability, amazing suspension and residual values; we want something that is a real event to drive and has the suspension to cope with the bumpy roads of Yorkshire and won’t cost us a fo…

One of the morning shows that has come on this morning when Liz got up says that breakdancing is in the 2024 Olympics? Why? Anyway, to the title. Suggest Olympic sports that you would like to see. What about: Armchair Lounging? Cocktail Mixing? TV watching? Laundry Hanging? Sleeping? Snoring?

Hi, I had the compressor replaced last year and after that the a/c was cold to the point that even during the heat wave i'd have to turn the temperature up after a while as the car would get too cold. Yesterday though, just driving home in much cooler weather than last year's heat wave and the a/c was barely managing to keep the cabin cool. I'm not sure if it was actually even cooling the air at all. Any obvious checks before I give Silverstone a call and ask them to check?

Time for another Sunday breakfast gathering for some of the finest bacon rolls around. This is our regular third Sunday of the month event, a chance to gather with like-minded enthusiasts and a cross section of Lotus models. Everyone welcome and we look forward to attendees from The Lotus Forums, SELOC, Lotus Drivers Club and Club Lotus. An informal gathering with no particular runs in or out organised, just a chance to chat, look at cars and take in the view. Join from 9.00 when the café opens for bacon rolls. We'll probably be around until 10.00/10.30. Location map for Newlands Corner here

I went to fill up the other day and other than audible clicks from inside the cabin, nothing. Sadly, I was down to a quarter tank and 100 miles from home so used a card to force the flap. Once filled and closed, again, it won't open. New bowl assembley including solenoid required? Anyone else had this?
