Hello, I'm looking to source an original airbox assembly and snorkel for my s2 elise s (Toyota 1zz). If anyone is looking to get rid of their original airbox assembly and/or snorkel please let me know. The airbox is the same between 1zz and 2zz cars. The snorkel was different so only 1zz would fit my car. Thanks, Adam

When I drive my S4 from cold (or after only a couple of minutes or so warming up), after a minute or so of driving I get a loss of power, revs drop then it stalls. Restart immediately and the problem either happens only once again, or doesn't reappear at all. When driving off after a longer warm-up, the problem never occurs. I took an Espritmon log today when this problem happened. The only correlation I could find was that the start of the loss of power occurred the first time the system went from Open Loop to Closed Loop: Revs drop to below desired idle value, increasing TPS has little or no effect, then the engine stalls. In this case after a coupl…

**** Note: this thread could apply in general to earlier or later Esprit models but there is some specific V8 information included *** The continuing annoyance of noticing and replacing blown filament bulbs on vehicles is one of my pet hates. So I decided that when I got my V8 back from repair, I would have a blitz and replace all of the bulbs with LEDs and (hopefully) never have to change one again. Easier said than done! There's quite a few gotchas and if I had to remove and replace the instrument binnacle one more time I think I would have done my back in with undoing and tightening that evil bolt underneath the dash Notes for each bulb/type below, including my sour…

Does anybody have any idea what all causes the ECU to go closed loop and if it can be manipulated?? My 1994 S4 used to close the loop in about 45 seconds but is now waiting about 4 minutes for a coolant temperature of 56.8C to be achieved. I put in a new O2 sensor (13030) and checked the 12V heater circuit, no codes thrown, drives fine though it idles up (say 2000 rpm) when rolling clutch in, then idles back down (1200 rpm) when the car stops, until warm. The O2 sensor still hits approximately 0.9V by 45 seconds. I tried the battery disconnect to no avail. I will try resetting the BLM's via Freescan, but figured maybe this was a familiar thing? (The car has neve…

1988 Lotus Esprit Turbo. I’m hoping for some troubleshooting help. Here’s the story: I was trying to sort out my non running fans issue and testing various relays in the engine bay (i have no diagrams or service notes - an issue I need to resolve). I jumped the relays, got fuel pump noise. ***detected a whiff of ozone*** Reinstalled relays, verified fuse continuity, now nothing on either pump I’m looking at the two relays just to the left of the inertia switch. The wires coming out of the inertia switch are energized as well as the green and white and the purple and white (pink/purple). anyone have any idea what I fried??

They say.....First impressions of our new EX530 performance level for Lotus Exige Sport 410 and Lotus Exige Cup 430. Complementing this vehicle with sequential 7-speed gearbox and newly developed paddle-shift system. Note the respectable acceleration value of 100-200 km / h of 5.6sec (0-100 has not been determined) The new kit has performed up to 565PS / 600N in bench tests, indicating the potential of the conversion. In the series variant, we have decided in the first step for 525PS and 575Nm

Friend with an Elise 111R is looking to move into an Exige V6. He’s not in any rush and has up to £50k to spend. I’ve advised him to wait until furlough stops and true extent of recession kicks in, for the morbid biggest bang for buck, although aware Lotus cars don’t get hit as hard as other brands. I’ve advised Sport350 at low £40’s now is best bang for buck, however he did have a soft spot for my old 380. Thinking of what I sold mine for to trade 12 months ago, the fact the early cars are hitting 3 years old and potential state of market end of year I have advised he should be able to get a 380 for £50k via private sale, end of year. Am I wrong ?

Hey guys, I have a 91 Esprit SE and the right rear shock blew out and is leaking. I need to replace both rears. The suspension is all original and I plan to keep it at the original ride height. I should note I am in Canada, trying to source parts here is a little tough. Anyone make a good shock absorber for the rear?

Hello, this is my first post and looking forward to being part of the group. I am looking to remove the aftermarket air filter from a previous owner (rusting and poor fit) and return my car back to standard. The 1zz elise had a different snorkel to other 2zz models and I am having trouble sourcing the part which is on back order at lotus. Does anyone have an original 1zz snorkel (or snorkel and airbox if wanting to get rid of the whole thing) that they would be looking to get rid of please? The latest part number is B131E0010J. Any suggestions on alternative options to allow getting the car's induction back to a close to standard setup also welcome. Th…

So, second time filling the Evora, i couldn't close the fuel door. It kept popping up. I tried moving the rubber tether this way and that tried pressing the release button again etc. Had an embarrassing drive home where literally everyone was trying to tell me my fuel door was open. After a lot of fiddling, I managed to close it seemingly by ensuring the 'bar' handle of the filler cap was completely parallel to the line of the car... Is this a 'thing'? Does anyone have any advice? I don't want to be stood on a forecourt for 30 minutes fighting with a fuel door with everyone watching!
