Been looking a lot at the new range of Hot Hatches out there after finding out my Old XR2 had been written off recently. Many of the new ones are harking back to the old days of being rough and ready, whilst some others are refined 4WD'ers. I must admit, with Cars at £30k doing 0-60 in 5 seconds there does appear to be some fun cars. I really like the Civic Type R (last years model) this years model is a little "Toned down" in looks though. New Toyota GR Yaris and Hyundai i20N also look like great small hot hatches. Anyone got one? and don't say Golf GTi cause thats the most boring Hatch thats vaguely hot ever!

Apologies if this has been asked before (I have tried searching), but I am looking for advice / tips on how to tighten up my alternator belt. In principle it looks easy but I don't know how to gain access to get a socket on the end of the bolts I need to loosen / tighten. In fact, the bolt on the adjuster bracket doesn't even feel like a normal bolt head (it feels round). The main alternator mounting point has a bolt on each end but I can't get a socket on either end due to lack of space. So far I've only tried attacking this from the top, but peering down it doesn't seem like there would be any better access from underneath. Does something else need to com…

I have an '86 Turbo that I think is a little high in the rear end. I know there were some changes in ride height from the early models to the later models, but this seems excessively high. In my searching for springs, it seems that the rear springs were changed to later ones that are longer than standard? I would like to try to return my car to a level ride - currently the rear of the side sill is more than an inch higher off the ground than the front - so I'd like to drop it an inch. Searching for springs has drawn a massive blank, as have spring rates - I've seen some reports of 155 lbs per inch but can't be sure if that was a Turbo or A/C or not. Does anyone …

Interested what you all think. I'd known about these for a while but now they are out in the open I have read so many conspiracies and theories that i can't read my FB link without spitting Coffee everywhere. Some things that are True You may get alerts about: Local severe flooding, fires, extreme weather Emergency alerts will only be sent by: the emergency services, government departments, agencies and public bodies that deal with emergencies. In an emergency, mobile phone masts in the surrounding area will broadcast an alert. Every compatible mobile phone or tablet in range of a mast will receive the alert. There are not too many aftermarket parts available to build a real race/competition Yamaha 2ZZ-GE engine. The ones that are available are just generic parts adapted to the 2ZZ. The 2ZZ engine seems to be a great starting point in that the block is made from MMC and therefore lighter, more compact and stiffer than a "conventional" cast block. Would this be the place to post custom designed and made parts for the 2ZZ engine? If not, can this post be moved to the appropriate place? And, is there any interest in the results?

Hi all I'm still very new to Evora's and am actively looking for a car at the moment. I'm generally focused on the colour and spec I want more than the gearbox and know that due to the limited production numbers I may need to compromise on something to help me find a car. I was all for needing a manual gearbox for driver involvement but I've seen a car that ticking all the boxes but it's an IPS box. I wondered if anyone could help me with a pros and cons list for the IPS box. What does it do really well, where is it not so good? I've owned autos before and actually quite like the more relaxed driving in towns/traffic so I am definitely open to them. Also I heard…

Hi there I am currently looking at an Evora S for sale. The car looks great apart from a crack that the owner has made me aware of. It's at the bottom edge of the drivers side air intake (see image attached). As you can see it's about the size of a one pound coin in length. Can anyone tell me if these sort of cracks are common and what would be the fix. Is something like this a big/expensive job and how much should I budget to fix? Also are there any recommended body shops, specialists or dealers that would be recommended for this type of job? Thanks Trev

Hey guys! Looking for an Emira in Northern California to do some youtube stuff with. I actually have an Emira allocation but I won't be getting my slot for a while and I'm eager to do a review on my channel, Car Honey on youtube. We do street and track test. You may have seen our latest video on Porsche GT cars. I'll post it after this I just don't want to get flagged. Anyone here want to come hang in Northern California and do a street review with a cayman GTS (we'll get an Evora as well) and then maybe a free track day later on for the real testing? We'll let you drive our GT4RS as well, for fun! Here's our final vide of this series. We'd do more detailed testing in…

Hi I wondered if anyone can help me. I'm a relatively new Lotus Elise owner. I have a 2010 1.6 Toyota model. My reversing lights don't work, the bulbs and fuses are fine. So I have assumed the issue will be with the Reversing light switch which I understand can be prone to failure. My question is where is the switch located, is it easy to replace and where can I purchase one from? There seems to be plenty of information for the rover models but nothing I can find on the 1.6 Toyota. Any help would gratefully be received Thanks Richard.

Hi all - I've had my factory matte black 2015 Evora S for a couple of months now, and couldn't be happier. I use it as a daily driver and have been pleasantly surprised at how practical it's been. The fact that it looks gorgeous and is a joy to drive is a given, and I'm frequently being stopped by curious admirers. I have though encountered a couple of issues that I wanted to share, and hopefully get some thoughts on. I've had a look through the forums and have seen some threads relating to both, but nothing that specifically answers/solves my queries, so fingers crossed this post will attract some enlightened feedback (thanks in advance!). The f…

Grampian Transport Museum Alford Aberdeenshire AB33 8AE Whether young or old, this event is great for you. Maybe you'll see some cars you remember from your youth, perhaps dad had one! This event is about nostalgia! Most car shows celebrate vehicles which were always destined to be classics. Limited editions such as Ferrari's, are seldom scrapped, usually only following an accident or catastrophic engine failure. Instead, this unique event in Scotland commemorates the cars that now survive in numbers under 500 in the UK but that were often built in the millions. Hello everyone, After lurking here for several years I thought it might be of interest to start my own build/upgrade thread. First, some backstory to the car. Back in 2017-2018, I used to own an Opel Speedster Turbo (LHD version of VX220 Turbo). A fabulous car in many respects, and a good way to get acquainted with the Elige platform. It was mildly upgraded with ca. 230-250 hp, making it more than swift enough for my needs. Being a Nordschleife nut, I had to take it there and try some laps. I had done so many times with other cars, both FWD, RWD, AWD and mid-engined. I had also tracked the Speedster several times and felt that I knew the limits of the car a…

Hi All, Can anyone shed on light on this car? https://www.mecum.com/lots/HA0418-340470/2017-lotus-evora-400-cup/ "The only factory made Evora 400 CUP car in the United States" Were there any more built? Looks to be a 400 IPS with a light motorsport prep (remove carpets, stereo, rear glass..) The reason for my asking is I'm curious about if the gearbox map is standard or whether Lotus have a "motorsport" map for the IPS that I could try to get hold of. I really want to raise the gearbox speedlimit back upto >7000rpm. Also the aggressiveness of the rev limiter on the 400 IPS really impedes progress on track when you hit it hard, I can…

Don’t want to be accused of racism, but why is this still news? How many other people have been murdered in this country in the past 30 years? Was Stephen Lawrence more important than all of them?
