Just decided to book in and do this trip again. I booked through a Company called Bends & Curves 3 years ago and was super impressed with their service and planning of the trip and in my opinion a great all inclusive price for hotels (that were superb) and excellent food. Just beer/petrol money to find. Think there was was around 40 Lotus last time I went. Anyone else fancy an awesome 5-6 day road trip through France/Belgium/Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Italy and back in September? Couple of pics from last trip.

I know there are a number of posts regarding window resets but I have a query I can't find an answer for. 2009 N/A Evora, passenger side door and window: When I open the door the window doesn't drop that 5mm or so to allow it to pass the rubber seal. Normal you might say, do a window reset...................................which I've tried of course. With the door now open however, if I press down on the window glass on the top edge, it drops about 5mm to a definite stop - if I then close the door, it jumps up against the seal just like it should. So, is there something that's not activating the drop and yet the upwards travel is ok? Or coul…

Hi all, Noticed my left front indicator was not working correctly, very brief flashing only, then noticed the daytime running lights on same side also not working at all. I had some water ingress which I assume when I forgot to place rubber cap back over dipped bulb cover +/- my headlight seal was failing during this pissy Scottish winter Steps to remove for anyone interested - 1. removed wheel and wheel liner, the plastic bolts are rubbish so will likely need prised out and replaced, do the forward facing section first and pull downwards as metal tab here slots behind the larger rear portion. 2. Disconnect headlight assembly connector(careful with the…

A labour of love... Using all available sources - the V8 parts manual, service manual, Google, Google Images, forums and threads and with one or two leads from old databases I have compiled a comprehensive list of ECM related parts, manufacturers cross references and alternatives. It is as close as I can get it, but I accept no responsibility for imperfection. Errors and omissions excepted. Caveat Emptor! If you find any inaccuracies or have more information then please let me know. When Bibs sorts out the table editor I will add this in a post but for now it is in downloadable spreadsheet form. Associated diagrams below. Some of these parts are applic…

Morning all! I just bought a ‘20 Evora GT and it’s a great drivers car so far! Just want to get some thoughts from y’all on a few things… - Are there any issues I should keep an eye out for? Currently has 9900 miles on the clock - Should I keep the stock head unit (INE-W987HD) or switch it out? The one in here works…shall we say intermittently. But I’m happy when it does! - Any other thoughts on ownership or things I should keep in mind? Thanks!!

Hi, You can see in elise lights section I have had a faulty LED DRL due to circuit board failure that required replacement with new headlight assembly. This means I have the spare parts from old unit that can be used. happy to send all of it or individual components The main bulbs work fine, the lens is ok, there is some lacquer peeling and some minor scuffs/stone chips so could do with refurbishing. see pictures. Will keep this on forum for sale for a good while before putting on ebay please pm me if interested, I suspect the lens is most likely item to sell so would be wanting, let's say, 200 for that kr ross

@Bibs Set up another event for next mont's breakfast. No-one else seems to be able to see the Accept, Maybe, Decline buttons apart from me (and Wayne as he accepted last month, but didn't turn up ) I'm using MS Windows/IE/Firefox and I can see the buttons. Others on Phone and tablet can't see them at all. I can't check this out as I only use MS, so no access to Apple or Andriod - very unusual I would have thought. I can see the buttons on the above link. Can anyone else? Here is a screenshot of what I see

Apologies if this is common knowledge but I failed to find anything. The rubber lanyard on my Evora's fuel cap had degraded and was on the cusp of breaking. From Lotus you can buy the whole cap assembly but not just the lanyard. Did a bit of digging and managed to suss out that it's a JLR part. Same basic cap set up is on loads of Jags and Land Rovers. JLR don't sell the lanyards either but you can get them on ebay or even better I found these chaps who are a LR specialist who make their own. For a couple of quid more than ebay that seemed a better bet. It arrived, fitted in a couple of minutes, perfect. https://www.powerfuluk.com/jaguar-xf-fuel-filler-cap-r…

I'm new to the NI Forum so hello to all involved - I have a 1988 Esprit in Kildare with 18500 miles on it and although I do most of the maintenance myself I am reluctant to change the timing belt - does anyone have a recommendation as to who in NI does Lotus servicing and would have already done Esprit belts. I cant find anyone in ROI and I did contact Charles Hurst in Belfast as they are going to be Lotus distributors but still haven't had a reply to my inquiry. I see there is often quite a discussion about Timing Belt life and Lotus/Ferrari ect suggest very regular changes but as E.Fox (Engineers) Ltd in Dublin we are Gates Industrial Belt distributors and stockists - …

Or paint name! As the title suggests, I’m looking for the name or paint code of the yellow callipers on our V6 cars. I’m highly tempted to get the engine cover painted in yellow and would prefer to match the callipers if possible. Thought it was Hethel yellow but can’t seem to find that paint code anywhere, the signal yellow is also quite nice but prefer not to have different yellows all over the shop!

Hello, I am currently disassembling the front suspension with the intention of getting it all cleaned up, while I save my pennies for work on the engine. (Yes i have realised that to replace the bushes etc. will be expensive also) Anyway loking at the front calipers it seems that it is probably cheaper to get reconditioned ones than to do the job myself. I have found a company called brake parts superstore, http://www.brakepartssuperstore.org.uk/contents/en-uk/d7858.html. This link refers to the front caliper to a Lotus Excel, looks very similiar to the calipers on my car. The service manual doesn't seem to give a model number or anything. Does anybody know if these are i…

Hi all, I've just had the belt replaced on my Exige and it's chirping. The installer said it will go away after a few miles as it's will automatically correct itself as it wears in. I've done 40 miles since fitting. Has anyone had something similar occur? Cheers

Good Afternoon All, I've run into some confusion on the Air Con wiring on my Federal 1979 S2. Specifically, I can't seem to figure out how to connect the Thermistor wiring to the wiring depicted on the Wiring Diagram. The Thermistor has 5 wires that are supposed to terminate with the various wires indicated on the Wiring Diagram. The (2) White/Black wires attached to the Thermistor and are designated to terminate with the White/Black wires on the wiring diagram (temp sensor) - no problem there. Similarly, the single Black wire can assumed to be a Ground wire so I can easily connect that to the Ground junction - again, no problem. The problem arises with the rema…

I've really been digging in to the vacuum circuits on my Turbo Esprit (83, USA). I'm in the middle of replacing all the vacuum lines as a step to get the engine running again. At some point, someone capped the vacuum line from the vacuum pump (so it only applies vacuum to the HVAC and brakes). This means that the ignition solenoid never provides the distributor with vacuum. In fact, I don't think there were any vacuum lines on the distributor at all when I pulled apart the engine (it's been a while though). The other side of the ignition solenoid vacuum line (on the back of the front carb) is also capped. I don't recall the car being difficult to start when it w…
